The Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser has become an iconic vintage 4X4 vehicle that has always held a devoted following of off road enthusiasts. Being fashioned after the beloved Willy's M38 Jeep that began military service in WWII, the FJ40 was developed for the world market to go head to head with Land Rover and over little time, Toyota's FJ 40 proved to be much more rugged and reliable in all demanding situations it faced.
The 1978 Toyota FJ 40 offered here has been the recipient of a complete, ground up style restoration and full mechanical rebuild. If is powered by its legendary 2F inline 6 engine hooked to the desirable 4-speed, floor shift, manual transmission. Recently, thousands and thousands were spent restoring this FJ including: Rebuilt springs, new tie-rod ends, suspension bushings, front and rear differential service, transfer case fully serviced and addressed accordingly, new exhaust manifolds, new u joints, new springs and shackles, new seat belts, brake pads, seats reupholstered front and rear, new wheel cylinders, newer paint etc. Other features include a Super winch (does need a new cable), new Runway Enduro 31 in tires, Sony cd 400 watt sound system with Bluetooth. The very desirable rear barn doors with swing out spare tire. Side mounted recovery jack and super 4x4 off road lights.
