beautiful drop top. Before you is a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu
SS. This is a real 138 code SS and not a tribute. There were only
7956 of these car produced out of a year that saw 234,676 total V8
Chevelles made that year counting exported cars. That means that
less than than 4% of the Chevelle's made that year came out this
way, and safe to say that there are probably not many of them left
out there that are real SS convertibles today. It doesn't matter
how far away or how close you are to this car, it is a stunner from
any distance. This entire car has been redone 3 years ago, and has
not hardly had any miles put on it since. The panel fitment on this
car is spot on and the paint is absolutely miles deep. This truly
is a car that you must put in your collection.
So no that we have you drooling over how this car looks on the
outside, let's talk about the inside. Just like the outside,
everything has been redone on this car. From the seats, to the
carpet, to the bright work, and of coarse the brand new Robbins
brand top. As you will see in the pics, a radio was not put back in
this car, because honestly, there are some people that would rather
listen to the V8 music going down the road instead of a commercial.
That being said, it leaves you the perfect option to put in any
kind of modern sound system that you would want to. Just like the
outside, the fit and finish of the interior is spot on. Everything
fits together just like it should. The only thing that you have to
do now, is drop that top and hit that key to hear this baby come to
life.
Now that you hit that key, you will hear the 327 under that hood
just come to life, and like we always say but it is so true, that
you will now have a hard time wiping that ear to ear grin off of
your face. This motor has been completely rebuilt and has only had
about 5000 miles put on it since it was done. This car has the
power pack heads, and the carb and intake have been upgraded with
Edelbrock parts. All of this exits out a beautiful set of ceramic
coated hooker headers and from there you get that sweet FlowMaster
muffler sound coming out the back. When you watch the video of this
car you will understand what we mean. All of this power is mated to
a 2 speed powerglide with a 2500 RPM converter in it, and all of
that goes out to a 12 bold rear end with 4.11 gears. That means
that this thing will really scoot off the line.
Underneath this car was built to handle as well. As you will see
there have been new tubular A Frames added for better stability in
the corners, and there is even a power front disc brake conversion
that has been done to this car so it stops on a dime. A new gas
tank was also installed as well. We could just go on and on about
everything that has been done to this rare car, but we think that
you get the point. This is just one solid car that you just have to
put in your collection today.
