GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro for purchase. The 2nd generation of Camaro's started in 1970 after only three years of the originals. As a response to the Pony car market's success the first generation was rushed out, and the 2nd generation had much more time for research, development, and a bigger production budget. The chassis and suspension were far more greatly refined in both performance and comfort. Production ran from 1970-1981, but government restrictions as the 70's progressed put a damper on the muscle car in the later years. Early 70's examples are still considered the height of the run of the very popular classic Camaro.
The 1971 Camaro offered here was treated to a complete frame off restoration in 2008. At this time the powertrain was replaced with a professionally prepared 383 crate engine outfitted with Edelbrock heads and the performer RPM package, 700 R4 Automatic transmission, and a new 3.73 posi rear end. Other mechanical highlights include K&N snorkel style cold air intake, (Original Style Air Cleaner Included and shown in pictures), Holley Dual Feed 4-Barrel Carb, MSD ignition, power steering, power brakes, balanced aluminum drive shaft, aluminum radiator with 2 electric cooling fans, long tube style headers, and Flowmaster exhaust. With the exception of a high cowl hood, the car remains quit stock in appearance featuring excellent Marina Blue Metallic exterior paint with classic white stripes, stock Z28 wheels, Z28 badging, excellent chrome bumpers. The interior highlights a B&M shifter, Kenwood sound system, Autometer gauges set in carbon fiber facia, bucket seats and console. The underside and sub-frame are fully restored, the suspension is fully restored with all new suspension bushings, spring shackles etc. The performance of this car is amazing and it is a complete blast to drive. At just 9603 miles since its build completion 8 years ago, the car still stands up extremely tall in appearance and eats up massive amounts of pavement in small amounts of time. Looks great, sounds great and drives great. Aggressively priced. A complete package that is ready to show and go.
