For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in Fairmont City, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a beautifully restored and tastefully restomodded 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. This beautiful machine has been frame off restored using the highest quality components and workmanship to be the gorgeous piece of automotive art you see today. This '55 sits on a Progressive Automotive custom frame with full length boxing plates installed with the tubular cross member. It has Street Ryde suspension with Pro Auto front tubular A arms as well as a Pro Auto triangulated 4 bar rear end. The rear end has Ride Tech air bags which gives some height adjustability. The steering is power GM rack and pinion and the car has power disc brakes in all four corners. It has all stainless steel Pure Choice lines and fittings and a Wilwood master cylinder with chrome 8" power booster. All of this sits on a set of Billet Specialties Dagger wheels, 17" front and 18" rear. These are wrapped in BF Goodrich G Force radial tires. To provide the power a professionally built 350 CID V8 is nicely displayed under the hood. It has Street and Performance chrome serpentine brackets as well as power steering reservoir. Custom valve covers display the "Bel Air" emblem which look great next to the Edelbrock Dura shine carburetor and intake. The 350 inhales through a K&N air cleaner and exhales through Street and Performance ceramic coated stainless steel headers. The headers run to 2.5" aluminum pipes with turbo style mufflers that give the perfect V8 sound. The V8 is backed by a freshly built 700R-4 automatic transmission, and a Ford 9" rear end with 3.55 Posi. The under hood eye candy continues with chrome alternator, PRC custom polished radiator, PRC custom polished aluminum fan shroud, and dual 13" high performance curved blade fans with polished billet motor covers. Aeroquip hoses and fittings are used for all heater and AC lines. The AC unit is supplied by Vintage Air and is fed to the cabin with custom vents. The whole car has an American Autowire wiring kit which improves safety and reliability. Power goodies include power windows, electric wipers, and one amazing stereo system. A custom console houses a 7" touch screen Kenwood stereo with NAV, Bluetooth, Sirius, CD, and back up camera. There is a Kenwood Excelon power amp hidden in the trunk which feeds Focal K2 door speakers with tweeters and crossovers. There are Pioneer 6x9 in the rear and a JL audio power sub in the trunk. The interior of this car is a work of art just like the exterior. It features a Billy Cox custom interior from the bottom up. This includes Mercedes black carpet with plush black floor mats. The seats are covered in black and red Ultra Leather which is comfortable to the touch. The front features buckets with a custom console and seating for two comfortably in the rear. The door panels are unique featuring the same Ultra leather as well as a 3 dimensional look with custom trim. LED accent lighting is a subtle touch that can be seen in the vents and under the seats. The power convertible top is black canvas with a glass rear window. The car looks great with the top up or down. The body is beautifully finished with a custom 3 stage 2 tone job using Planet Color Sherwin-Williams paint. The two tone uses Lazer Red and Black pearl which is sure to catch looks anywhere you may go. The trim has been refinished and beautifully polished. The side moldings have been etched with Chevy bow ties for the Chevrolet enthusiasts. This car has been restored by a Tri-Five specific shop and was completed about 2 years ago. The car has been driven about 4,000 miles since, but still shows incredibly well. This is a vehicle that would be at home in the most avid collector's garage.
