For Sale: 1968 Dodge Charger in Arlington, Texas

Vehicle Description

1968 Dodge Charger Restomod

This started out as a clean, two-owner (last one for 26 years) 1968 vehicle with just a hair over 100,000 miles on the it. There are now approximately 6,000 miles on the oldest part of the car and less than 100 since being rebuilt and/or finished. It even has the original bill of sale and Chrysler Certicard to go with it!

1968 included a new design for the Dodge Charger. Changes included a new hidden headlight grille (which are the original vacuum and work perfectly on this car), curvier body, recessed backlight, refined tail, and less chrome. The rear quarters of this specialty rig have been bulged a bit for that muscle car look with evidence of competition themes and went from a fastback body style to a semi-fastback style.

This was originally a 318ci car that has been upgraded to a 340 with 360 heads, electronic ignition and slightly oversized cam. The block and head covers have been painted to match the car and the engine bay is clean and detailed. The fuel flows through a 4-barrel Carter Competition Series carburetor with custom steel mesh air cover. We like the look but also have a specially done Four Barrel 340 air cleaner in red to match the engine.

The power gets to the ground through a rebuilt TorqueFlight 3-speed transmission that shifts effortlessly. It has new brakes, wheel cylinders, hoses and the fuel pump. We have a new pad for the underside of the hood which has not been installed but will go with the car if you prefer that look. It also has both power steering and we are offering an upgrade option of front discs installed with the car if that is your desire at dealer cost. It is already a strong stopping car with the original drums with very little, if any, pull. The car is now equipped with perfect sounding Flowmaster mufflers winding back through the dual exhaust to new chrome tips put flush to the rear of the car.

The exterior of the car has been completely redone with metal where there was any rust and the body is completely straight. It has been painted in Porsche Guard's Red to really stand out from the pack as a modified car. A true 1968 triple stripe has been installed across the back and OEM amber turn signal indicators put into the hood to break up the lines. The windshield was replaced but all other glass is original. All of the chrome is in near perfect, if not perfect, condition. It sits on brand new 18? American Racing Torq wheels all around with new high performance rubber. The car has been lowered properly in the front using the torsion bars for little, if any, change in ride quality. It can go a little lower if you desire. It was realigned after doing so and the speedometer re-calibrated to actual MPH.

The interior is all original except that the carpet has been replaced along with the trunk being covered. Frankly, it looks just as good with only the bare painted metal. It has the full gauge package including the Tick-Tock-Tach (currently being repaired) and the original AM radio which works. A brand new Kenwood, Bluetooth enabled and remote controlled stereo with new speakers is hidden with the car with no alterations made cosmetically is set to be installed on a day's notice unless the buyer prefers to do something else more extreme. The seats are in excellent shape with no rips or tears as well.

All in all, this is one bad-ass 1968 Charger Restomod that you will be proud to actually drive without having to pay north of $75,000.00 for one you would be afraid to. It is done right by trusted technicians in their respective fields. This car was just unveiled last weekend at the Mopars Unlimited Show and never failed to not have a crowd around it.

Priced very fair for everything that has been done at $49,900.00!

or $525.00 per month with 20% down and approved credit.

This car is located and being represented for a collector in the Seattle, Washington area.
