For Sale: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette in Bay City, Michigan

Vehicle Description

Old and new come together in the beautifully crafted 1963 split window Corvette resto-mod. This award-winning creation started in the restorer's mind and began when he found the perfect '63 car to start from. That car had the right body, original VIN and '63 'Vette title, but could never become a matching numbers showpiece. Instead, it became a 2016 Detroit Autorama dual-prize winner. The body was stripped down to bare fiberglass, smoothed and repaired, and then primed and repainted in 2015 Torch Red using DuPont ChromaBase paint. Then the refinished or replaced chrome and stainless steel trim pieces were added along with new windows and seals. While refinishing the body, the engine bay and hood were recrafted to allow for the new frame and powertrain. Small details like the inside fender covers were added, which besides making the engine bay look nice double as removable covers to protect and hide the car's computer and battery. Under the stunning body, a 2015 SRIII stage two powder coated full C7 custom tube frame provides the underpinnings. Mounted to the frame is a fresh 525HP all aluminum LS3 V8 with hot cam and custom fresh air intake, which pushes its power to the rear wheels through the rock solid Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission. A McLeod hydraulic clutch gives the driver control over the tranny while a 3.55:1 positraction Currie carrier axle with a Strange Engineering 3rd member delivers the power to the rear wheels. Massive C7 Z51 Brembo brakes with ASBS reign in the power and bring you to a safe stop, and the stainless steel lines are a nice touch. Steering is handled by a Flaming River custom road race power track, with a tilt steering column for the driver. The suspension makes this classic feel like a new C7 because it uses all new C7 components with Viking fully adjustable coil-over shocks. The C7 Z51 wheels wear Pirelli P Zero Max Performance tires (245/35/ZR19 front & 285/35/ZR20 rear) that firmly grip the road. Engine cooling is handled by a polished Be Cool LS radiator. Interior comfort is handled by a Vintage Air heating and air conditioning system. Not to be missed, the 3" side exhaust is a Allen's stainless chambered system and rumbles beautifully yet allows you to hear the person sitting next to you. This 'Vette's interior was hand crafted using supple C7 Kalahari leather nearly everywhere you touch. Black carpet fills in the floors and rear deck area. The attention to detail and craftsmanship on the interior has to be seen to be believed. The interior and underside a double insulated using boom and hush mats. Closing this '63's door, the sound would make you think it is a new car. The factory-look radio has been updated with modern solid state components and smartphone capable input. The gauges have been updated with Classic Instruments Velocity Black units. All the electrical wiring inside and out has been replaced with Painless wiring harnesses. Lighting has been updated with LED tail and running lights. The hideaway headlights have been updated to Detroit Speed units, as is the wiper motor (windshield wipers not installed for aesthetics). The power door windows operate with a light push or pull on the original style window cranks. Now that the car has gone to Autorama, earned two 1st place awards, and the car's designer has added his test miles and fixed minor flaws that only he could find, he is ready to start turning his latest vision into reality. Now that he has had his fun, it is time to have yours and add this split window to your collection! The Bay City Motor Company (www.tbcmc.com).
