This 1965 GTO recently underwent a full nut and bolt restoration, and is as clean underneath as it is up top. The Montero Red exterior paint has been professionally sprayed and looks flawless. The white vinyl interior is also in like new condition, and is free from any rips, tears, or wear. The wide wood grain steering wheel ties the whole interior together producing the classic muscle car look. The GTO was produced by Pontiac from 1964 to 1974 and made a brief comeback in 2004 to 2006. Some consider the GTO responsible for the start of the muscle car craze. Although it was not the first muscle car, its styling, combined with its performance forced other domestic automakers to step up their game or be left behind in the dust. The 1965 GTO saw many changes, most notably were the headlights, the quad horizontal headlights were now quad vertical lights. The overall length grew 3.1 inches while the wheelbase and interior remained unchanged. The 65' GTO also put on 100 lbs from the 1964 model, resulting in heavy duty shocks and a stronger front anti-sway bar being standard. The dashboard also received a design upgrade, and for an additional $86 you could order a rally gauge cluster that provided a more visible tachometer and oil pressure gauge.
