Vehicle Description
1967 Pontiac Firebird
When 1967 rolled around Pontiac needed something to keep up with
the muscle car race of the 60s and the Firebird was born. This line
of cars premiered in 1967 and followed the same coke bottle style
body as its competitors. The styling of the slit rear taillights
echoed the Pontiacs other muscle car, the GTO as does the split
style front grill. A big difference though was the bumpers were
incorporated into the overall look of the front end which create a
very unique appearance that will forever be associated with the
Firebird. This classic has resided with the same owner for the past
15 years who purchased the vehicle out of a collection in
Indianapolis, Indiana. It has 58,000 original miles and is a good
solid car. It left the factory in Regimental Red but has received 1
repaint since the purchase in a slightly lighter Red. The Black top
is not new but being in very good condition it looks like it is.
The chrome work is all in great shape and the car wears all of the
correct emblems and trim pieces. The original style rally wheels
sit under all four corners with new P215/65/R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw
GTS tires.
The car was originally a 6 cylinder 3 speed car but has since been
fitted with a 400 ci V8 motor and turbo 400 transmission. The motor
is fitted with an Edelbrock 650 carburetor, Edelbrock valve covers
and an Edelbrock manifold. The motor runs well and has plenty of
power. When installed, the correct motor mounts and front springs
were added to accommodate the larger motor. It has approximately
1,500 miles on it. Other upgrades include power steering, new
Monroe shocks, air shocks in the rear, new power brakes (disc
front) and new 3 leaf rear springs. In the back of the car you will
find the stock 10 bolt rear end.
The interior is done in Black and utilizes the stock bucket seats.
An aftermarket B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter was added and
moves through the gears smoothly. The stock gauges, knobs, switches
and radio are mounted to the dash with the only real customization
being the added gauge pod for oil/amp/temp.
