GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1992 Ford Mustang GT Convertible for purchase. Another round of government restrictions at the end of the 1970's meant that in order to still have muscle the size and weight of the car had to shrink considerably. The Fox body Mustangs became the 3rd generation of the legendary line and ran from 1979 to 1993. These Mustangs popularity carried the historic line through a time when many died off. The Fox Body is not very similar to the large, steel muscle car era ponies, but they are undeniably fun to drive. The setup of a large engine compartment on a car that isn't incredibly big is ideal for customizations and pro-street builders, but finding rare preserved examples are becoming a growing part of the collector automobile industry.
The "7 Up" Mustangs are a strange story in Mustang lore. Initially, 30 were built to be given away as part of a promotion with the 1990 NCAA Basketball Final. The promotion never happened, but Ford went on to produce many with the distinctive looks that included the Dark Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic paint, white leather interior, turbine wheels, luggage rack, and a white convertible top. These cars were never officially labeled though.
This Mustang GT is a beauty and absolute rare find. The paint, interior, and underneath are in excellent condition that continues to look more impressive the closer you look at it. It's highly original with under 13,000 miles showing on the odometer. It's powered by the 5.0L V8 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission. It features the power convertible top, power windows, air conditioning, power front disc brakes, original radio, power front seats, and more!
