“When you buy a Corvette, you buy a lot more than a car. You buy
an image. A car that’s eager for the open road. A car with no
compromises … a car whose form follows its function … Buy any other
sports car and all you get is today’s car. Buy a Corvette and you
get a piece of tomorrow.” These are the words with which Chevrolet
lured buyers into its showrooms in 1971, eager to put excited
drivers behind the wheel of its stunning Corvette.
This gorgeous 1971 Corvette Stingray Convertible has been
refinished in its original color of Bridgehampton Blue Metallic and
features an optional matching hardtop and a white soft top. Its
finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by its
chrome and brightwork which are in excellent condition. Newer white
letter tires wrapped on Chrome Rallye wheels and rectangular dual
exhaust tips lend an air of sportiness.
The cockpit is equally sporty, featuring high-backed contoured
bucket seats with integrated head restraints in Dark Blue vinyl. A
full array of gauges will keep you informed about what is going on
under the hood. Its newer interior is in excellent condition and
features new seating areas, door panels and carpeting. You’ll also
appreciate its optional tilt and telescopic steering wheel and
AM/FM radio.
Powered by its original 270 horsepower 350 CID V-8, this Corvette
has plenty of guts in the performance department! Its original
engine has been driven less than 5,000 miles since being
professionally rebuilt. The engine is mated to its original 3-speed
automatic transmission. Other upgrades include electronic ignition,
stainless steel brake and fuel lines, new brake pads and calipers
and a new front suspension. Regularly maintained, this gorgeous
Corvette is ready to go!
Owned by its most recent owner since 1989, this Corvette comes
complete with extensive restoration and service records.
One item of note is that minor imperfections in the finish do not
detract from the overall appearance of this car. In addition, the
clock is not currently functioning. The fuel gauge reads over-full
when the gas tank is filled, but is otherwise accurate. It should
also be noted that the windshield washer tubing is not currently
installed, and the turn signals, although working, could use some
adjustment at the steering wheel.
If a drop-top C3 Corvette in a stunning color combination is what
you desire, this is the Corvette for you!
