"Though the Monza Spyder was announced in coupe and convertible
form in February 1962, production actually began in April. Despite
all that went into it, the Spyder package (RPO 690) cost only
$317.45. The 1962, 1963, 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder were
produced in limited numbers and proved that Chevrolet was willing
to take chances by designing an efficient, high-performance sports
car. The Spyder package's signature feature was a turbo-charged
150-hp engine, producing a staggering 70 hp more than the base
engine. A four-speed transmission and better brakes were mandatory
options, and the package included heavy-duty suspension. It wasn't
glamorous but was more useful than the turbo in the real world,
where lag limited help at less than highway speeds unless driven
hard."

For sale by owner is this very nice 1963 Corvair Monza Spyder
convertible with the turbo-charged engine and 4-speed transmission.
This is the type of car we love to find, a low mileage original in
excellent condition. The odometer reads 76,000 miles and based upon
a hand written note from the previous owner, is believed to be
correct. It appears to be a mostly original car with one repaint
years ago and just general�maintenance as needed. The interior,
trunk, engine bay and undercarriage are original and in excellent
condition.

This car looks and runs great and all features except the radio are
fully functional. A new steering box and rebuilt generator were
installed in 2015 and the drivers seat cover has been replaced.
