The year was 2003, well, actually 2002 when "The General" celebrated 50 years of Corvettes by releasing a special edition which instantly became popular and a lot of them were sold to the public. The color chosen for the exterior was a Burgundy called "Anniversary Red", a little too close to the one used for the 1993 40th Anniversary.
All in all, almost 12000 special edition Corvettes were delivered counting to about 1/3 of production for the model year. Besides the special paint, all of them featured unique Shale Leather interior, gold painted wheels, 1SC preferred equipment group with all the options, selective ride...
