Wire wheels MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this
rarely seen 1935 H2 series Rolls-Royce 20/25. This one of only
3,827 ever produced 20/25s and is made even more desirable and rare
by the fact it's a Barker bodied (#7007) 20/25! By 1929 to meet a
new breed of car owner, Rolls Royce decided to upgrade and improve
the 20hp chassis. The very first models were for the most part a
20hp chassis with an enlarged engine, it was called the 20/25. The
small-horsepower chassis was now powerful enough to carry a large
saloon or limousine coachwork and it became the best selling
Rolls-Royce car up until World War II. Finished in a period Blue
and Grey two tone paint scheme this Barker bodied H2 series shows
good with Patina and some age. The Grey is tastefully broken up
with the Blue top and fenders. The rear chrome bumpers with
optional luggage rack fits well and looks good. The front grill is
in very good condition, including the iconic radiator cap. All trim
pieces are present including the dual fender mounted outside
mirrors and have a nice finish. The period correct headlights,
center driving lamp and taillights are in very condition with no
hazing or cracks. The large factory sliding sunroof has a tight fit
and performs as originally designed. The passenger side mounted
spare tire matches the other four wheels and tires. Inside, this
20/25 features Dark Blue Connolly leather front bucket seats and
rear bench seat which are period correct and show well. The door
frames, constructed of wood have the excellent fit that one would
expect with a Rolls-Royce. The dash wood trim has been recently
refinished, but does show some age and cracking. The semaphore
signals and manual windshield wipers are inoperable. The matching
blue and wood trim door panels and wooden dashboard are a
continuation of the striking interior of this sedan and look good
with the patina. The black carpet is in good shape showing normal
wear. The tan headliner completes rest of the interior and is in
very good condition. The weather-stripping is good, with few signs
of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The original Rolls-Royce steering
wheel is correct and in very good condition. This '35 "Rolls" is
equipped with a rebuilt top end (decarbonized, fresh gaskets and
valve seals, etc.) 3.7 liter inline six cylinder engine fed by a
recently rebuilt single jet Rolls-Royce carburetor. Power is
transferred to the wheels by a four-speed manual transmission.
driver assist features internal expanding 4 wheel operation with
independent handbrake on the rear wheels and mechanical servo motor
driven from the gearbox. The suspension consists ofsemi-elliptic
leaf springs front and rear, hydraulic dampers, equipped with ride
control. Also included is the starter crank and hex-socket. 19-inch
original grey wire wheels and polished hexagon center nuts with
period correct tires. This particular Rolls-Royce is a very nice
original example of the 20/25 from the elegant pre-war days of
England. From the eye catching Blue with grey exterior to the
chrome "Flying Lady" hood ornament everything works together to
make this one of the original "Spirits of Ecstasy" we ever seen!...
