For Sale: 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Vehicle Description

1973 Mach 1: A Great Restoration This 1973 Mustang Mach 1 is the nicest we have seen, literally from top to bottom. With just 1,142 miles since its total frame-off restoration, this car is like new: • Great paint; • Perfect interior; • An undercarriage that looks brand new; • A rebuilt 351 Cleveland V-8 engine 4bbl; • A rebuilt C 6 automatic transmission; • Ram Air hood; • Rear Window louvers • Spotless underside; • Limited slip rear; • Air conditioning; • Power steering/4-wheel disc brakes; • Marti Report and More! This is a must see Mach 1. They don’t get any Nicer! • Paint and Chrome The first thing that jumps out about this Mach 1 is the quality of its Light Pewter Metallic respray. To say that it is “showroom fresh” is an understatement because the paint work is far superior to its original yellow finish. This car has been garage-kept since its restoration. Accented with the full Mach 1 black decal on its air induction hood and side stripes, this is a car that looks fast just sitting still! The chrome trim is in very good to excellent condition. All of the windows are in good condition and both driver’s and passenger windows operate correctly. The rear window slats help distinguish this Mustang as one of the true muscle cars of the era. Likewise, the car has both its front and rear spoilers to complete the look. As would be expected with such a high-quality restoration, the body and underside of the car are free of any apparent rust issues and both show like a brand new car (see pictures). • Interior The Silver and Black vinyl interior upholstery is in perfect condition, and makes an excellent contrast with the Silver exterior. The front bucket seats look virtually new, as does the black carpeting. Similarly, the door panels are in like-new condition. The dash pad is in excellent condition. All of the engine/systems monitoring gauges (temperature, amp, fuel and oil pressure) work properly as do the warning lights. Similarly, the tach and speedometer work (although the speedometer appears to read high), as does all of the safety equipment (lights, horn, front-only seat belts, etc.). Like most clocks in older cars, this one will need some attention as will the never-used windshield wipers. The air conditioning blows cold, updated by a modern Sanden a/c compressor that assures that even on the hottest days, the cockpit is comfortable. • Engine The car’s replacement rebuilt 351 Cleveland was bored 0.030” then balanced. The exhaust seats were hardened to allow for the routine use of unleaded gas. The electronic ignition system is MSD, and the engine has a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. The Borla exhaust system has ceramic coated headers. Engine cooling is enhanced with a Be Cool aluminum radiator. The engine starts right up and runs well, providing all the thrill that the Mach 1 Clevelands are famous for. • Transmission The rebuilt C6 automatic three-speed transmission has a shift-kit, providing quick but sure shifts and is beefy enough to handle the engine’s increased torque. • Suspension The rebuilt front suspension has Global West lower control arms, ¾” anti-sway bars and polyurethane bushings. The rear suspension has subframe/chassis stiffener bars, mild lowering spacers and a rear anti-sway bar. • Rear End/Brakes/Wheels/Tires The rear end is a limited slip 3.55:1 that helps handle the engine’s torque. This car has power 4-wheel disc brakes with new stainless brake lines and hoses. Correct style 15” Magnum 500 wheels mounted with Dunlop GT Qualifier 235/60R15 tires, all four of which look almost new. • Comfort Features This is a factory air conditioned car with a modern compressor that cools the car completely as well as efficiently. The Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette Stereo radio works properly as does the electric antenna. Power steering and power brakes help turn this muscle car into a vehicle that any enthusiast will enjoy. • Appraisal An appraisal conducted 200 miles ago rated this Mach 1 as a #1- vehicle (show-quality). An Amazing Example of one of Ford’s Most Popular and Collectible Muscle Cars The Mach 1 is on almost everyone’s list of their favorite collector cars, known for its great styling and impressive performance, so finding a nice one can be a challenge. Our 1973 is a real find as well as being a head-turning restoration: great paint, perfect interior, rebuilt engine and transmission and A/C. These cars are highly in demand and therefore represent not just a great driving experience but a sound investment as well. Remember, you can’t take your stocks and bonds for a weekend drive or to a car show: they may be blue chip but they will never take a blue ribbon! FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL US AT: 540-370-4474
