In the early 1980s, emissions and safety restrictions put a damper on the sport car industry in the US. US manufacturers were also transitioning away from carburetors and into various forms of fuel injection. This made for lethargic performance from even the most established sports car names, such as the Corvette. In 1980, a base Corvette was rated at 190 Horsepower. This particular example has been highly improved from its meager beginnings, and is now the fire breathing muscle car is deserves to be. The original engine has been professionally built with performance in mind. The 350 was punched out to 355 CI and the output upped to an estimated 400 horsepower. The car retains its original automatic transmission as well as other factory equipment including Air Conditioning. The car was painted within the past 5 years in a beautiful shade of bright red that really looks right on the car. It sports the original style wheels to keep a fairly factory look, but some larger tires have been stuffed under the rear end. The interior is silver leather which looks really nice against the red exterior. Power equipment includes: steering, brakes, and windows. This car looks great, runs strong, and sounds amazing with the headers and dual exhaust.
