Vehicle Description
This 1969 Camaro comes with the original Protecto-o-Plate and the Dealer Invoice and an interesting documented history. It just arrived from the body shop with new sheet metal and new grey paint using 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. This car has been in southeast Georgia all of its 47 years. It was assembled in April, 1969 in Norwood Ohio and delivered to Grindle Motor Company, a GM Dealership in Hazelhurst, Georgia. It was sold in November, 1969 to a local minister from Douglas, Georgia, who bought the car for his wife. They owned the car for several years until he sold it in 1990 to the 2nd owner 100 miles away in Statesboro, Georgia and he restored the car in early 1991. A picture album and all receipts from the restoration are included. On June 20, 1998 the the car was consigned to a local radio station to be raffled off for charity. The lucky winner with the winning key became the 3rd owner and drove the car home 20 miles up the road to Sylvania, Georgia. The original raffle ticket, radio station stickers and the winning key are included with the car! The car shows 49,051 miles on the odometer which we believe to be original but we cannot confirm so it is listed as Exempt on the Georgia title.
The car was born with the base 307cid V8 but now has a 350 engine. It has a few added performance options such as a 292 Comp cam shaft, roller rockers, Edlebrock 600 carburetor and a GM steel high rise intake manifold. It has a Turbo Hydra-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission, power steering and the highly desirable Z87 code black Custom Deluxe vinyl interior with Strato-bucket seats, woodgrain dash accents, molded door panels and includes the original AM radio. The seats, carpet and headliner are in excellent condition. The correct 1969 Rally Wheels, a cowl hood and the trunk spoiler were added during the restoration and gives it a nice custom appearance. The BF Goodrich Radial TA 235/60R15 tires are almost new with only 1,200 miles on them. The car has brand new Gun Metal paint. All lights, gauges, switches, odometer, speedometer, window cranks and door handles are operational. The AM radio and lighter do not work. The undercarriage looks solid and the floor pans, frame and trunk pan are solid and rust free.
Although this car is a driver, it was only driven about 6,000 miles in the last 18 years and has always been stored in a garage. It is very rare to find a 69 Camaro with this much documentation and brand new paint at this price! We can arrange shipping at buyers expense. This vehicle comes with a free 90 day limited powertrain warranty. Please contact Suncoast Classic Cars at 912-235-2347 for more information.
