For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette. This '69 Corvette coupe is in a beautiful shade of Red over black vinyl interior complimented by rally wheels, black rocker panels and optional side louver trim. Powering this gorgeous 1969 Corvette is a 350 horsepower 350 cubic inch small block V8. This would be the optional higher horsepower small block offered in 1969. The next available engine would be a 427. A lot of people preferred the small block due to less weight over the front end making for better cornering abilities and a cooler running engine that also led to less heat making its way into the passenger compartment. This would be the first year for the 350, steering column ignition switch and 8 inch wide wheels allowing for wider rubber. There are many other changes for 1969 that were considered great improvements when compared to the 1968 model year. Side louver trim, Stingray script over the louvers, operable door handles that do not require pushing the keyed lock button, reverse lights incorporated into the taillights eliminating them from beneath the bumpers, redesigned door panels, smaller steering wheel by one inch and a passenger side map pocket to name a few. This particular Corvette has a lot of recent work completed ensuring a lot of hassle free enjoyment. Recent work includes new front brake calipers and pads, all new shocks, new battery, new foam for the seats and greased seat tracks, new parking /emergency brake handle, new sun visors, exhaust with factory exhaust manifolds, front wheel bearings repacked and cleaned, accelerator pedal assembly and cable and a full service. Equipment includes power steering, Air Conditioning, AM/FM radio with CD player, T-Tops, vinyl interior, rally wheels and radial tires. Originally the car was optioned with the 350 horsepower engine, Soft-Ray tinted glass, head restraints, M-21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission and 4.11:1 rear gears.
