This 1968 Camaro convertible has been treated to a complete restoration, finished off in one of the most popular original colors updated to a base/coat, clear/coat Marina Blue. Super Sport and Rally Sport equipment was added including the hide-away headlights that work great. Take a good look at the hood treatment. Designed to have the best of both worlds, it's the optional cowl induction hood, but has the “ice cube” hood trim added like the standard SS's would have. The 396 engine has been completely rebuilt with a Comp Cam roller “Thumper” cam. Which makes this engine sound amazing. The Thumper cams are designed to have that nice “rumpity-rump” sound , without sacrificing running and drive-ability. The houndstooth seats are newly restored and give this Camaro a little more upscale look than the standard seating.
The black top is new and has the folding rear glass rather than the vinyl window so it won't develop the hazy look found in the sewn in vinyl style. The interior also features a center console enhanced with updated aftermarket gauges for keeping an eye on that strong Big Block. The undercarriage is clean and dry and has no rust. The fuel system including the tank is new and the sub-frame connectors assist in keeping this convertible's ride more in tuned to what it should have been when new. The formula is a simple one really, start with a clean, rust free convertible, build an engine and drive train well suited for performance, and reliability. Upgrade the suspension and brake system. Add all of the desirable SS/RS options, freshen the interior with deluxe seats and finish it off with a great color and a new top. It's kinda what dreams are made of!
