Vehicle Description
This 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible is all original appearing, but has some very important upgrades. These upgrades make the car far more enjoyable and safer to drive than 100% stock. It has undergone a complete frame off restoration. Purchased by the current owner in 1997 they learned quickly how poorly Ford brakes of that era were. That led to modification #1 Power Front Disc Brakes. Modification #2 was a Desert Cooler Radiator and a Hi-Tech Water Pump. Modification #3 was a 1953 Flathead V8 engine. This last generation Flathead was better engineered, makes more power and torque, is more efficient, and easier to maintain. Modification #4 included a modern Ford Rear End with a modern Open Drive Line and upgraded rear suspension. The 1953 Flathead engine was rebuilt with Offenhauser Aluminum heads, Dual exhaust system was added, rebuilt 3 speed transmission, modern tube shocks, new 11 inch clutch, pressure plate and T.O. bearing. New fuel tank was added, Ford (Maverick) rear end with new Parallel Leaf Springs and new ring and pinion set up. A new 12 volt electric system was added plus a new heater and One wire Alternator. The interior has new upholstery and carpeting throughout. A brand new convertible top was added. The body is all metal and straight without rust, rot or filler. This Ford was meticulously owned and maintained by the owners for almost 20 years. I believe there is not a nicer one in the country.
