Here's a great old Ford that will have everyone smiling. This 1950 Deluxe 2-door sedan is a great example of a Shoebox Ford in its original configuration, right down to the 6V positive ground setup. It looks wonderful, is fully functional, and offers a nice ride with its Flathead motor and column shifted 3-speed.
This example was repainted its original black some years ago. The chrome and brightwork were also redone and really accent the car nicely, along with the visor and faux spotlights. Doesn't it look sharp? The underside is in very nice shape with a solid frame, rocker supports, and floor (except for a patch above the master cylinder). It's hard to believe this is a 66-year-old car.
Under the hood is the venerable 239 ci Flathead V8. It's a nice running motor with pushbutton start, and has a nice mellow sound through the dual glass packs. The transmission works as good as the engine, as do the brakes and steering. It all makes for an enjoyable driving experience with a great 1950's aura.
The grey interior is very nicely redone. It is in excellent condition and is a real throwback. The car does have turn signals with a column mounted switch. The vacuum wipers and horn work fine, as do the parking brake and dash lights. The heater, vents, and windows are all good too, as is the interior light. You will also find the owner's manual in the glove box.
This is really a nice package. It's a great looking old Ford inside and out, and is fun to drive with a classic ride. Whether you want to hit the drive-in or just cruise the strip, this one hits the spot.
