For Sale: 1969 Mercury Cougar in Toronto, Ontario

Vehicle Description

1969 Cougar (real) Eliminator California Car.
1 of 51, Working AC
This is a nice solid original car. To the best of my knowledge, it was painted in California 2005 and it has had the interior done, but otherwise an original unmolested car. Odometer shows 53,462 miles. Still had 2 of the original FoMoCo headlights in it until I upgraded to the halogen lights (By today’s standards, original lights are way too dim). Still has the buck tag on the rad supports that are almost always gone. Nice rim blow steering wheel with no cracks. Perfect dash. Lots of original straps, wire harness retainers, heater core bypass valve under the hood that show that it is possibly a survivor, not a nut and bolt restoration. Gas and brake pedal wear minimal and lack of driver door sag when opened all show me a low mileage car. I do not have any documentation to prove the mileage has not gone around once, but highly unlikely. I am convinced that this is an original 53,000 mile car.
Was shipped to California new and came to Canada in 2007. Not a car that migrated to California later in life from some salty northern state.
Factory air. Factory tinted glass, nice chrome. Rim blow Horn working, Aftermarket stereo.
Heavily undercoated, Love it or hate it, it may have helped save the car. You can tell from the photos, no repairs on the undercarriage.
It is in excellent mechanical condition, good tires, suspension is good, brakes, etc. There is one muffler that will need to be either fixed or replaced. Should be no issue to safety, has not been modified, meaning should meet emissions, where ever its new home is.
All the Eliminator pcs are there, High back bucket seats, chin spoiler, trunk spoiler, hood scope , stripes, camera case dash , styled steel wheels, Heavy duty suspension , the 351 4v 10.7 to 1 high compression motor, 300 hp stock. Automatic trans. Has power steering and brakes. Everything works, including the air con, hideaway headlights, sequential tail lights, etc.
A couple of extras. It has the Cougar finned valve covers. And has hood locking pins, Nice add on.
This car is an excellent investment; it is from the south so it is a solid car. So this car, as long as it is taken care of, will last another 47 years. I have been around these cars all my life, and as these cars are approaching 50 years old, I see very few rust free cars anymore.
The car is correct, not a clone, It is one of the rare original eliminators. First of only 2 years in production.
I can get the car to Buffalo, Niagara falls NY area border, I have been told that because the car was built in the USA and was once was registered in the Usa, there is no issue with getting the car back into the USA, If not convenient to come the the border, there are trucking firms that will take care of the whole process for you and get it to your home.
This is a fine example of a cougar Eliminator. Nicely optioned out. It has a nice color combination; it has the rare and expensive, air con, tinted glass. And of course the power steering and power brakes and front disk brakes combined with the heavy duty suspension that makes this car driveable by today’s
standards. In conclusion this is a car that will last and continue to appreciate.
Take advantage of the Us to Canadian dollar exchange, That`s why I can offer it at such a good price.
