sad to be selling my 1947 chevy long bed 5 window custom pick up. It runs and drives like a much newer truck, lots of fun and tons of compliments.The body is all stock except the rear fenders were widened and the bed has bed customized to conceal the air ride system. everything is new and works great from the heater to the air ride...
The body is mounted to a custom frame which has been notched and has been boxed and has a 1980 Camaro front sub frame, with power steering and power brakes, all brake rotors and calipers / pads have been replaced along with master cylinder and booster. has new shocks with mounts to allow for 8" of travel in front.
Rebuilt and updated transmission is a THM350 with a mild stall converter, it has a Hurst floor shifter and new transmission gears to match vintage speedo. The rear end is a chevy 10 bolt posi with new drum brakes has leaf spring with air bags and new shocks for 9" of travel, ride is great and so much fun.
The air ride system is 2 viair 480 chrome pumps, 2 air tanks, all is plumbed with 1/2" hoses and fittings for quick movement up and down, also has air lift for the upper section of the wood bed, for access to the entire air system. Has dual batteries in this compartment too. The controller for the air is a 14 way switch and is easy to use. The wood bed has been done in a White Oak and is finished nicely.
The gas tank has been removed from the cab and relocated to under the bed behind the rear axle, it uses a electric fuel pump.
Motor is a 350 V8 that has been built by a local engine shop. it is 30 over with new pistons and a polished crank, has a nice cam with plenty of lope and roller rockers. Also a new Holley carb with electric choke. It has a brand new HEI distributor and a 90amp alternator. Radiator is a Afco racing aluminum four core with a mechanical fan.
The interior is very vice and complete. it will fit a person from 5' tall to 7' tall, the seats where custom made and covered, black with orange stitching. It is made to be adjustable and with plenty of foot and leg room. Easy to get in and out with this set up.
The heater and the windshield wipers have been upgraded to 12 volt electric and work great. also a new heater core has been installed. All wiring from fuse box to end of wire is new and labeled clearly. with new light socket everywhere. has a gm style 20 circuit fuse block inside cab. Has a 1980 Camaro steering column and a grant steering wheel, has custom tach with matching speedo. oil pressure and temp with amps are mounted below the dash.
The sound of this truck is awesome with dual 40 series flow master mufflers and hooker headers with 3" pipes that dump in front of the rear axle.
Has 15" z28 Camaro rims that were sandblasted and recoated black, it will need new tires this summer.
It is being driven daily to and from work and turns a lot of heads.
