BODYWORK/TRIM
By mixing an unconventional body with familiar traits and proven
performance, the Panamera introduced Porsche to a whole new
clientele, completing the brand's transition from hardcore sports
cars to SUVs and sedans. Dressed in a classy coat of subdued Basalt
Black 2-stage, there's no doubt this swoopy saloon puts a fresh
twist on a traditional favorite. The car's pristine body has been
meticulously pampered and protected since it rolled off Porsche's
Leipzig, Germany assembly line. Its professionally finished

drama and tension Harm Lagaay's original design inspired. Fit and

ENGINE
With sports car performance in a Grand Touring package, this
Panamera is definitely a way to have your cake and eat it too!
Naturally, the car's visual testosterone is backed up with plenty
of power from the engine room. In Generation I guise, this
well-equipped S features a 4.8 liter V8 that twists an even 400
horsepower into 369 lb./ft. of torque. And thanks to the motor's
careful tuning, that power comes on both strong and steady. Those
stellar numbers add up to a jumbo-size land rocket which is capable
of brisk five second 60 MPH sprints and a quarter-mile time of 13.9
seconds. The engine's substantial torque provides power throughout
the RPM range, creating a very drivable car anywhere from open
freeways to rush hour commutes. And, based on appearance, the silky
mill has been meticulously maintained and carefully driven.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
As one of the automakers that pioneered nimble, rear-wheel-drive
powertrains, Porsche has been generally praised for their
exceptionally athletic platforms. Take one look under this svelte
cruiser and you'll see just how much work went in to its
Nurburgring-proven engineering. The car's independent front and
multi-link rear suspension is augmented by adaptive air struts,
extensive use of aluminum and the adoption of Porsche Dynamic
Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. Power
flows from the smooth motor in to a 7-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe
dual-clutch transmission - that's "PDK", for short. At the corners
of the floor, giant, slotted rotors, which slide through beefy 4
and 6-piston calipers, ride behind 20-inch 911 Turbo II wheels and
meaty Pirelli P Zero tires. And overall, the bottom of this
basically new Porsche looks great!
INTERIOR
Inside this slick Panamera, it's all about a symbiotic relationship
between cutting-edge European performance and traditional 'old
world' luxury. At the center of the car, heated and leather-lined
seats, which are trimmed in attractive aluminum, show hardly any
signs of wear. Between those seats, a stylized center stack frames
a high end sound system that's complete with both Bluetooth and
Navigation. At the base of that stack, like-new carpet, which is
protected by thick, "PORSCHE" branded floor mats, anchors a
full-length console and aluminum-trimmed shifter between attractive
"Panamera S" sills. Above those sills, tight-fitting door panels
cap rich wood trim with aluminum handles. In front of the driver, a
handsome, leather-trimmed steering wheel spins aluminum spokes and
small paddle shifters around a colorful crest. And throughout this
