Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1962 Citroen ID 19 Chapron Convertible in Red with Tan leather. Body # 3280622. This is a real ID 19 Chapron Convertible of which only around 112 were built. Having just spoken to a man who owned this for 5 years in the 80's I now have an explanation of how this came to be in this configuration. A Citroen Dealer in Canada had 3 Chaprons on his lot. Someone set fire to some of his cars damaging the convertibles and an SM he took the best parts of the convertibles and the gearbox from the SM. According to the previous owner all of the parts are either from one or the other Chapron Citroen think the engine is from a regular DS DX2 engine (#0572010127). Chassis #3862496. Later front fenders from the other convertible etc. Runs and drives very well - just had a big service and spheres rebuilt. Lovely straight and solid body with no sign of prior accidents. Interior looks original and has nice patina top is serviceable but older. We have priced this car fairly at around half what a good ID or DS Convertible would sell for and only a little higher than sellers ask for aftermarket conversions. The attention this car gets is astonishing. Its a delight to own and drive and a real piece of French automobile history. Inspections encouraged. All sales AS-IS.
