Up for sale we have a 1969 Plymouth GTX that has the matching
numbers 440. This was the 3rd year for the GTX. They along with the
Road Runners were the Hot Rods for Plymouth. The GTX had a nicer
interior and most came with the 440 Engines. The one we have for
you has the Matching Numbers 440 with the correct 727 Auto Trans
and 8 " Rear End. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief
description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the
Plymouth, but first we would like to tell you a little about
us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee.
We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no
consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You
can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a
big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So,
that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us
for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at
(865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the GTX. Down the side you
will like what you see. The panels are straight with good fit. It
has the correct GTX Hood and Trim. Everything is covered in the B5
Blue Paint which was the factory color. At the time of the repaint
they did a nice job in the jams and trunk. The paint is accented by
the Black on the bottom below the side molding along with a Red Pin
Stripe. At the time of the resto new bumpers as well as other trim
was installed. All the weather stripping looks good as does the
seals around the glass that is good as well. This GTX has the
remote left hand mirror that was a factory option. The final touch
is the stock painted rims with small hub caps.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '70. On the inside
it's done in the correct blue. This is a factory Bucket Seats and
Console car. It retains the factory shifter and being that it's a
GTX it has the woodgrain in the dash and trim in the console. When
you look at the door panels they also have the wood grain inlay.
This GTX retains the factory AM Radio and seat belts.
Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the Plymouth.
Under the hood it's powered by the Matching #s 440 that is mated to
the 727 Auto Trans. The engine looks correct right down to the
stock breather and manifolds. This Plymouth came with Power
Steering and standard brakes. When you look at the inner fenders
and fire wall it's all painted correct. The bottom of this ride is
extremely solid and is well detailed.
