Originally assembled on September 16, 1965, this 1966 Corvette
427/450hp Convertible is one of the first '66s built, and made it
out the door with a 450hp rating before GM decided to reduce the
rating to 425hp, presumably for insurance purposes. This car
received a very extensive BODY-OFF restoration by a very
knowledgeable and NCRS-trained gentleman, with great attention to
detail and correctness. This restoration was completed in 2011, and
power steering was added to make the car easier to drive. This car
has won awards at several local car shows, including a Best of Show
award at Corvettes for Chip. This Protect-O-Plate documented car
shows vg paint, with an absolutely stunning shine. Convertible top
is good-vg, with a vg window. Chrome bumpers are vg-exc, and
exterior door handles are vg. Weatherstripping is good-vg, and
knockoff style wheels and associated spinners and caps are vg-exc.
Coker Classic radial goldline tires show an average of 8/32nds
tread depth remaining in the front, and an average of 9/32nds
remaining in the rear. The interior of this 1966 Corvette 427/450hp
Convertible shows vg-exc seats, carpet, and teakwood steering
wheel, and vg door panels, center console, gauges, glovebox lid,
and GM seatbelts. Correct plastic steering wheel is also included,
as well as a car cover (not pictured). Correct appearing AM/FM
radio is in place, and the clock is working with a quartz movement
at the time of this write-up. The numbers matching L72 engine in
this car shows final assembly date September 6, 1965. Correct air
cleaner, carburetor, intake manifold, ignition shielding, valve
covers, ignition wires, radiator hoses, and hose clamps are all in
place, and the frame is solid and rust-free. This engine was
rebuilt in 2010 (invoice available). This car has been fully
serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes,
engine, transmission and rear-end are all in good operating
condition. This is an INCREDIBLE value on an extremely well
restored, numbers matching Big Block Convertible -- give us a call
