For Sale: 1965 Pontiac GTO in Arlington, Texas

Vehicle Description

1965 Pontiac GTO

GTO's have always been a popular classic and with some minor customizations this 65 was transformed into one of the sleekest out there. The body styles for GTO changed drastically in 1968 so this look was only around for a short time and many think it has much more of a classic appearance than later models. The squared off grill even changed just 1 year later in 66. This is an original Arizona car that is now in Texas and is one of the lesser seen post cars that are harder to find. These cars have always had a tough exterior but with customizations like shaved doors, custom trim and Black paint this one definitely takes it to the next level. With the doors free of any handles, electronic releases were installed to gain access to the interior. A lot of the stainless has been powder coated black but the bumpers were kept chrome as were the front grills. The drip rails were removed giving the roofline a nice smooth look. Minor details like this really start to stand out when you park it next to another one. All of the glass on the car is in good condition with tinting that helps out on those sunny days. The car looks great and has a great stance whether it is sitting still or rolling around on the American Racing Torque Thrust wheels.

Pop the hood and you will reveal the 455V8 (camouflaged as 421) motor that gets those tires spinning. The engine was really well built and the entire engine compartment is show ready. In pictures it looks like stainless was added to the firewall but that is actually the gloss Black paint. The entire engine compartment including the underside of the hood was painted to match the body. The hood has actually been fiberglassed/filled for a nice clean look. Only the best components were used in the construction of the motor which includes Edelbrock aluminum 455 heads, an Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap intake, March serpentine belt system, custom hoses, tons of billet/chrome parts and much more. It is kept cool by the Be Cool aluminum radiator and power comes from the Optima battery. It is paired with a 700R4 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive that shifts smoothly. CPP Hydraulic brakes are in place with Baer 13" rotors so stopping is no issue. A Global West front suspension was also added with a Hotchkiss rear suspension and QA1 coilovers for a smooth ride.

The interior is complete in Black to match the outside and utilizes a combination of original and aftermarket components. The original style upholstery with Pontiac logos grace the seats but a custom center console has been added. This houses the Lokar shifter, added gauges, vents and of course the always forgotten cup holders. Vintage AC/Heat is in place and billet vents were added to the console and the dash that look they should have been there from the factory. The entire dash as well as the metal on the doors was painted gloss Black giving it a much cleaner look than original. A polished Tilt column sits in front of the driver and is topped with an aftermarket steering wheel with Pontiac horn button. A custom Auto Sound system delivers a great sound with a hidden headphone jack in the glove box to plug in your favorite tunes via your phone or mp3 player.

If your looking for a muscle car with a little extra attitude then this classic GTO needs to be on your list!
