For Sale: 1968 Pontiac GTO in Palatine, Illinois

Vehicle Description

REAL GTO VIN: 242378R164505 MILES: 88178 reading today, I can not verify that this is correct, but it could be. HISTORY: By the VIN the car was built in Arlington, Texas. It must have lived in Texas for a long time, A man moved from Texas to Ohio and bought the car with him. My car restoring friend in Ohio bought the car and I bought it from him. IS THIS A REAL GTO? By the VIN it is the 2nd and 3rd digits of 42 indicate it. HOW IS THE PAINT? Upper end driver quality! I see no dents and no dings. The paint has a real good shine and the car is straight when I look down the sides. You have to look with a critical eye to find tiny defects like specs and 3 or 4 touched up chips. Its a nice paint job, but not a roll out of the trailer show car queen. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Good, no real wear, the seat covers are good, the door panels good, the carpet good, the dash panel is OK, but has a couple of small flaws. A few very minor scruff on the seats, head liner good. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK!BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK!GAS GAUGE WORKS! SPEEDOMETER WORKS!AFTER MARKET RADIO WORKS!WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK! DO THE HEAD LIGHTS TURN OVER DOORS WORK? Not by the old junky vacuum stuff. They are very easy to open manually. A company called Reto Electro makes a very good electric convertion kit. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a good running 400 V8 with a 4 barrel carburator. I think its original, but I did not try to find codes on it. I hear no knocks, no rattles and it starts good. It does have a Edelbrock carb and headers. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? It a Turnbo 400, thats a 3 speed automatic. Its shifts good with no slip. HOW IS THE REAR-END? It a denpendable 10 bolt with a good highway gearing. I hear no knocks or whines. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? It drives good. It is power steering. HOW ARE THE BRAKES? To me they are good 4 wheel drums. The power booster is very touchy, it is easy to apply pressure. HOW IS THE EXHAUST? Good looking pipes, good sounding mufflers, full tube headers. HOW ARE THE TIRES? They look good and have lots of tread left on them. HOW IS THE CHROME? Good other than the back bumper having scuffs and pitts. HOW IS THE GLASS? Good, the windshild is clear with no wiper marks or chips. WILL I TRADE? Please no trade offers. DID I RESTORE THIS CAR? No, the past owner bore the cost, I just polished and fixed some minor things.WE ALSO OFFER EASY FINANCING-RATES START AT 5.99% TERM UP TO 10 YEARS WITH 10% DOWN PAYMENTWE DELIVER AND SHIP WORLDWIDE-CALL US TODAY 847 393 7887
