Ford had moved on to their fourth generation version of the Mustang which gave it more than just power but also what came to be known by the employees as the "New Edge" design. This model was released to the market and sold as a 1999 and came with an SVT Cobra package as an option. This was much more of a facelift than seen in previous years and although it screamed American, it was also thought to market better on a global market. The interior didn't see much of a change from the generation before but with a new independent rear suspension available exclusively to the Cobra, the vehicle gained a lot of momentum in custom shops due to its capability. This vehicle went on to become quite the popular choice for those looking to make track cars, custom rides and even drag racers with many still being raced in today.

The entire powertrain has been replaced to increase power and torque to 462 hp and 444 ft lbs of torque due to the ultra-powerful 6.2L LS2 with L92 heads mated to its 6-Speed T56 manual transmission. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a Ford Racing True-Trac differential with 3.73 gears. The body is mostly kept the same except for some weight reduction touches including a fiberglass hood and new front fascia, the interior is stripped with the exception of racing seats in order to keep it as race-ready as possible and the overall condition is great especially considering its been owned by the same person its entire life!
