A COLLECTOR’S DREAM! Unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, the 330 GTC was offered as a stylish production car alternative to Ferrari's growing line of competition cars. It was the successor to the 275 Berlinetta (the 330 GTC would inherit the same chassis) and the predecessor of the 330 2+2 Coupe. The steel and aluminum body of the 330 was constructed by Pininfarina. Its svelte appearance married the front end of the 500 Superfast with the 275 GTS rear, resulting in a new GT car that was unmistakably Ferrari. Wheels were a smooth 10-hole alloy design that were mounted via knock-off Rudge hubs; the design had a striking similarity to the racing competition Ferrari's of the period. Mechanically, the 330 GTC offered excellent weight distribution and handling, with proven V12 performance. The newly improved Colombo V12 (factory designated type 209) was increased in bore and stroke to 3,967cc and still featured the single overhead cam, wet sump design. With triple Weber carburation and dual coil ignition, the 330 was capable of 300hp with a top speed of over 150mph. A rear mounted 5-speed transaxle was connected to the engine via a torque tube encased driveshaft while fully independent suspension and power 4-wheel disc brakes ensured maximum grip, even on the most unforgiving roads. The inside of the 330 offered elegance while lacking splendor. Occupants sat in trimmed leather, while the driver had Veglia black faced instruments reporting speed, engine revolutions, water temperature, oil temperature and pressure. A Nardi, 3-spoke, wood steering wheel helped to enhance the road feel provided by manual worm and roller steering, while power windows allowed the driver or passenger little distraction from the road ahead. Production was limited to 600 cars from 1966 to 1968, but the legacy of the 330 GTC would live on in models like the 330 2+2 coupe, which inherited the enhanced 4.0 litre Colombo V12 engine from the GTC. This late 1967 model, chassis no. 10927, is finished in Rosso Amarento Red with an impeccably-kept black leather interior. It was sold new in Italy by Ferrari of Milan. It stayed in the Ferrari homeland for the first few years of its life before coming to California in the mid 70's where it remained until last year. With previous long term collector ownership this 330 GTC has amassed an incredible amount of service records that still accompany the vehicle today. The original owner's manual, complete tool roll, and restoration photos are also included. The vehicle's meticulous restoration still shows as new, and garnered a Best of Marque award at the 2009 Concorso Italiano invitational. It performs exceptionally well and would make a welcome addition to any prominent collection. We are proud to offer this exceptional example to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast who appreciates the potential of this great marque.
