Vehicle Description
This is a real 242 Pontiac GTO, built in August of 1966. A frame
off restoration was completed in April 2015, and the car has less
than 500 miles since. I have over $18,000 in parts receipts alone.
Most everything under the car and under the hood is new except the
motor and transmission. It is my understanding that the motor was
replaced by the dealer in 1969 with a then standard 400 CI GTO
motor. The transmission was upgraded at some point to a turbo 400 3
speed with the Hurst Dual Gate shifter available on the GTO's after
1966. The 3 speed is a major drivability upgrade over the 2 speed
transmission available on 1966 model. The interior is virtually all
new. Minimal sheet metal work was needed during the restoration and
the car is solid. This is a rare highly optioned car with factory
power steering, factory power brakes, factory air conditioning (all
new OEM parts and working), factory power windows, lighting group
and black vinyl top. Everything on the car works with the exception
of the clock, which seems to be hit and miss. The car has all new BF
Goodrich period tires with new but original spec wheels. The spare
is full size, brand new, matching the tires and wheels. The
original tire jack and all related parts have been restored and are
in the trunk. For more info call 612 290 9299
