Vehicle Description

1957 Oldsmobile 88 Recent Restoration of Paint and Interior Golden Rocket 88 371ci V8 Cylinder engine J2 Option - Three Rochester 2-Barrel Carburetors Hydramatic Transmission Dolphin Instrumentation Vintage Air Conditioning MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen 1957 Oldsmobile 88 2 door complete with extremely desirable tri- carburetor setup and air conditioning! This is the true American classic enthusiast's car! Finished in a dramatic, period correct Turquoise blue over a brilliant white, paint shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear body colored bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. Paint and body are exceptional with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. Inside, the blue and white vinyl seats look great with no major signs of wear visible. Door panels are upholstered in the same colors as the exterior which nicely carries the custom theme to the interior. The beautifully finished dash also echos the turquoise and white color scheme and features unique Dolphin speedometer and gauge cluster mounted in the original bezel, as well as desireable Vintage A/C system, aftermarket stereo, original steering wheel, billet pedals and more. For 1957 only, the basic 88 was officially named Golden Rocket 88, taken from Olds' 1956 Motorama two-passenger show car. However, the only badging was an "88" underneath each taillight. Also for 1957 the "J2" option was offered, with three 2-barrel carburetors, similar to the Pontiac Tri-Power. The Super 88 continued as the upscale mid-line series. Under the hood, the Rocket V8 increased in displacement to 371 cubic inches and 277 horsepower for all models across the board. Styling highlights were more evolutionary than radical overall with three-piece rear window styling utilized on some models. In 1957, Oldsmobile added a safety deep-recessed steering wheel. This classic Olds Rocket comes equipped with the before mentioned 371 cid V-8 cylinder engine, three Rochester 2 barrel carburetors (J2 option), 3-speed Hydramatic transmission, power steering, clean and nicely detailed engine compartment, Vintage air conditioning, staggered 18 inch American Racing wheels with "Z" rated directional tires complete the custom look and give this car a nice firm ride. This car is the answer for those looking for a return to a simpler time, be it for a daily driver or a weekend get-away, it's sure to turn heads at any gathering! These 88s are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Current mileage on the odometer shows 6,098, it is sold as is and is mileage exempt. The car is being sold on a clean & clear Arkansas title. VIN: 577A10913
