The Chevrolet SSR or Super Sport Roadster was produced for only 3 years and was in a league of its own being the only pick up truck built with a retractable hard top and that incorporated styling cues from the early 50s. The vehicle's design was inspired by the late-1940s Chevrolet trucks, specifically the 1947–1955 Advance Design pickups.
