Debuted at Geneva in 1962, the 2600 was available with three body styles: the four-door Berlina with factory bodywork, the sleek Bertone-bodied Sprint Coupe, and Spider by Carrozzeria Touring. Produced through 1967, the model's 2.6-liter powerplant featured dual-overhead camshafts and triple side-draft carburetors to deliver 165-hp. Never produced in large numbers, the 2600 delivered a wonderful blend of characteristically Italian design and spirited driving dynamics for its discerning buyers. This Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint # AR825690, Modello 106.02, Motor series AR00601 was built on December 15 1964 and sold new by Alfa Romeo Dealer in Milano in 1967. The car was born White with Blue leather upholstery, which is believed to be almost all original with later freshened red carpeting. In the late 1980's the Sprint received an exterior repaint in correct color, while preserving all factory brightwork and trim. The car remains today a very well rounded and great example that is ideal for continued use as a driver/touring car. Equipped with power windows, heater, 2-speed wipers and factory radio delete, this Alfa is complete with correct rubber trunk mats, seat belts, emergency roadside equipment and binder containing recent servicing records. Work included a new clutch and associated external components, R&R of the gas tank, radiator, carburetors and top end, water pump, voltage regulator, generator, as well as new correct Michelin X tires. Running and driving beautifully, the coveted 2584cc Engine with 3 Weber 45 carburetors, was so powerful that it served in the Italian Carabinieri Squadra Volante as high speed Pantera police Pursuit Vehicles, as well as chalking up the 1967 European TT 3 Liter Championship with Alessandro Ragazzi piloting a Sprint. Noted Alfa Romeo Historian Pat Braden called the 2600 Sprint A true Grand Touring car capable of covering long distance reliably without tiring driver or passenger. Here is the ideal GT candidate for such enjoyment and continued appreciation. *Vehicle titled as a 1967 Model $54,500.00 Offers Welcomed Full Resolution Photos: 1965 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or [email protected] SELLING YOUR CAR?
