For Sale: 1966 Dodge Charger in Los Angeles, California

Vehicle Description

This 1966 Dodge Charger was not originally a Hemi powered car from the factory. It now has had a 426 Hemi crate motor installed and the rest of the drivetrain completely redone. There is a beefed up factory numbers matching 727 TorqueFlite Transmission done by Stegalls’ Transmissions. Included are Kevlar Clutch bands, Shift Kit, Moser Yoke, 2700-3000 rpm Stall Converter, 10inch Mopar Racing Flexplate , and a TCI Sand Cast Aluminum Pan. The current owner has added a Gear Vendors Overdrive Unit, Hydraulic Power Brakes, and Wilwood Front disc rotors and calipers. The 8 3/4inch Sure-Grip Posi-Traction 841 Series Rear-End has been fitted with new Richmond 3:90 Ring and Pinion. The bearings converted to Green-Style Bearings. There are front and rear Moser Yokes with Dana Universal Joints connecting the 3inch Heavy Duty Drive-shaft. Front and rear left side axles have been converted to right hand thread lugs and studs. Undercarriage of the car is original factory undercoat finish. Wood grain Sport Steering Wheel was an original factory option. There is a concealed stereo system as well. Also, there are many new and original parts that would come with the car.
The 1966 Dodge Charger is recognized as one of the rarest muscle cars from the 1960s. It’s unique fastback design was inspired by Nascar and several Nascar drivers, including David Pearson and Buddy Baker, drove Dodge Chargers with the 426 Hemi engines to Nascar victories.
This 1966 Dodge Charger that has been made to look like the 66 Nascar winner. The signatures by David Pearson and Cotton Owens on the trunk are authentic. The rest of the labels are all stickers that could be removed if someone wanted to do so, but the trunk may have to be resprayed because the signatures are in permanent ink. This car comes with original documentation, including the factory invoice to the original owner, copies of all titles, and the original Warranty CertiCard.

The interior is mostly original with the factory 4 bucket seat set up. Rear seats fold down for additional cargo space. The console runs the full length between front and rear seats. The seats have extensive chrome trim in factory new condition. The Charger's factory gauges include a tachometer, speedometer, amp gauge, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, and oil pressure. In addition, a Fushion Tachometer, Oil Pressure, and Water Temperature gauges were added for redundancy.
This 1966 Dodge Charger has a Mopar 426 Hemi Crate Engine installed. Also not original is the Power Brake system with front disk brakes (It was hard to stop previous to this upgrade). The Hemi has been factory dyno tested at 480 horsepower with 488ft lbs.of torque. This Hemi recreation was accomplished using many of the origianl "Big Block" components, including oversized radiator, fan shroud, clutch fan, power steering, alternator, and transmission. The Charger is set up for street/strip use and has low miles since restoration. Mopar High Performance Ignition, TTI Chrome Headers, Hi-Torque mini starter, Lokar Stainless throttle and kick-down cables, Schumacher motor mounts, Double Roller Timing Chain, and a high capacity rear sump oil pan. The aluminum dual plane intake sports a Holley Street Avenger 770 CFM 4 Barrel Carb.
The signatures are authentic. There are lots of extra parts with this 1966 Dodge Charger. Upholstery for the interior and carpet kit still new in boxes. Carpet kit for the trunk is new in box. Electronically controlled exhaust cut-outs! How cool is that! Built for Speed and for Fun!
