Vehicle Description
1957 Chevrolet Corvette Fuelie
If you were driving around America back in the 50's in a sports car
there is no doubt that it was a Corvette. These cars will forever
be recorded into the history books as one of the most sporty
vehicles ever made. Their timeless look was incredibly unique and
even in modern times the Corvette evokes feelings of class, speed
and style. They were total performance machines built for the
person looking for something more than just transportation. For
them driving was a pastime, not a necessity.
The popularity of the Corvette is something you can always count
on. Since these cars are still being produced, even the new
generation is exposed to the Corvette name. This makes these cars
some of the best investment vehicles out there. Not only will the
cars hold their value, they will continue to become more desirable
as time passes by. This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette takes things a step
further because in addition to being a sought after year this
classic is a correct 250 HP original fuelie car. Fuel injection may
not have caught on until many more years down the road, but this
car is a beautiful example of this early engineering. The car has
had a full rotisserie top level restoration bringing it to like new
factory condition. The odometer reads 4,170 miles which is not
documented as being the only original miles, but based on certain
features and the condition of the car prior to restoration many
have said that they are. The car is factory two tone with Cascade
Green which you find beautifully gracing the extremely straight
body. The coves on each side frame the original Fuel Injection
emblems which are cleanly mounted in their original positions. All
of the chrome and stainless trim is nicely sitting in place and all
has a great finish. This was the last year for the single
headlights which are in place and working properly. Wide whites are
found under all four corners nicely wrapped around the original
painted to match wheels and hubcaps. Since the restoration, the car
has been mostly trailered to its destinations and we can guarantee
you it has been extremely well cared for. It has never seen the
rain or even wet streets for that matter.
Powering the car is a correct 250hp 283 V8 engine topped with the
Rochester Ramjet factory fuel injection system. The motor has an
incredibly clean factory fresh look that is only improved upon by
how well it runs. Everything is done in factory components and kept
as original as possible. Paired with the motor is the correct 4
speed manual transmission that moves through the gears with
ease.
The interior of the car is done in the original Ivory and looks
brand new. The way the dual bucket seats tuck back into the rear
deck are just reminders of how these cars feature some of the best
design work out there. The dash is topped by all of the original
gauges including the center mounted tachometer. The AM wonder bar
radio works properly and is mounted in its original position
between all of the factory controls. The beige top matches the
carpet and raises up nicely into place. It is in just as immaculate
condition as the rest of the car.
With low production numbers of 1,040 fuelies being made and only
664 4 speed cars total for that year these rare classics are
getting harder and harder to find. They are being bought up and
tucked away in museums and private collections often out of reach
for the typical car hobbyist. Look around and you will see this is
one of the nicest fuelies still in existence and is being sold at a
very good price considering both its rarity and how nicely it was
built. If this car were to go to auction you would be paying
significantly more plus all of the associated fees. Come check out
this great piece of American automobile history while it is still
available.
Add it to your collection for $129,750.00!
BUT DON'T WAIT!
By request, the car is on display at the National Corvette Museum
in Bowling Green. The curator at the Museum values the car at
$145,000.00 and they only select the best Corvettes out there for
display.
