For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in New Lenox, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Incredible 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS "The 1968 Camaro was almost visually identical to the ’67, with the exception of new front and rear side marker lights and vent-less door glass. What really made the ’68 Camaro stand out was big engines, upgraded suspension, and special equipment features. The RS package included numerous cosmetic changes including a blacked-out grille with hidden headlights, revised parking and taillights, upgraded interior trim, and RS badging. The SS package contained a modified 350 V8 with an available 396 producing 325hp, and a 375hp version, along with simulated air intakes on the hood, special bumble bee striping, and a blacked-out grille. It was possible to order a RS/SS."   There are over 120 pictures of this car in the ad below, including detailed exterior, interior, engine, trunk and undercarriage. Scroll down after the description and let them load on your computer, it will take some time because of the size. WE WILL NOT RESPOND to emails or texts asking for the reserve, or selling price. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, we say the pictures tell it all.  Please let them all load, (there are over 130) to see the great condition of this classic Chevy.  Professionally restored from top to bottom, completed in 2001 (with a complete engine rebuild in 2010 and driven about 1,000 since), this Camaro was finished with the best of everything. The original 396 engine is long gone, replaced with a rebuilt 70's era 427 V-8 mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission with a shift kit.  The car has a show quality, base/coat clear/coat repaint in the rare original Island Teal and it is absolutely beautiful. The interior has been redone with the correct black standard buckets. All lights, signals, heater, gauges, radio, wipers, windows are fully operational. This car was built for performance and does not have power steering or brakes. The 427 engine fires to life instantly and it rides, handles and looks terrific, probably better than when new!  It has been serviced, detailed and is ready for a new owner.  For all you numbers guys out there, what follows are the important details; Vehicle Identification: 124378N330343 Data Plate; ST- 68 12437                 NOR- 31097 BDY TR-712                                          FF PNT 70's Era 427 V-8 Approximately 500 HP L89 Winters Foundry Aluminum Heads 427 Winters Foundry Aluminum Manifold BBC 5140 Forged Ibeam Connecting Rods 850 CFM Holley Carburetor Crane Camshaft Crane Roller Rockers MSD Distributor Blaster 2 Coil Kit Headman Ceramic Headers 3" Mandral Bent Dual Exhaust Dynaflow Mufflers Chrome Plated Aluminum Valve Covers Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission with Shift Kit 2500 Stall Converter Line Lock 12 Bolt Rear with 330 Gears Positraction Caltrec Ladder Bars Sub Frame Connectors Front Disc Brakes, Rear Drum 15" Weld Racing Wheels  BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires P-215 65R15 Front & P-275 60R15 Rear   This car is a multiple show winner, including the Super Chevy Show and Calvacade of Wheels in Indiana.
