With its original 396 and correct Muncie 4-speed, this cool Camaro isn't some crazy, custom pro-touring marvel. Its standard Blue interior trades outrageous leather liners for simple and subtle vinyl. And its glossy, LeMans Blue body is straight, solid and undeniably classic. In fact, everything on this Chevy is traditional and very familiar, and that's exactly what makes it so special. You see, with this coupe, there are no gimmicks to attract your attention, pretentious aspirations of becoming a modern sports car, or obnoxious luxury cruiser add-ons. It's just a clean, honest-to-goodness muscle car that's so appealing and so well done it'll stop you in your tracks. If you're looking for some awesome Detroit metal that can turn heads from here to California, and doesn't have to make excuses for a previous owner's compromised vision, this real-deal Super Sport is your brand of fun!

BODYWORK/TRIM

The beneficiary of a professionally finished, frame-off restoration, this slick, first generation F-Body features an athletic appearance that's highlighted by a correct Ermine White and LeMans Blue color combination. Steal one glance down the sides of the car's rock-solid body and you'll find that great care was taken to ensure all seams are both narrow and precise. Step closer to the car's mirror-like paint and check out flat surfaces that are a product of both rust-free, original sheetmetal and high quality replacement panels. Grab the car's well-adjusted hood and feel how smoothly it closes to provide an excellent fit that's set off by a clean clearcoat finish. Ultimately, it all adds up to one lean, mean Chevrolet dream machine that, despite being a few years out of the paint booth, still stops traffic.

When it comes to purity of form, I can't really think of a better looking car than Chevrolet's 60s-era Camaro. It's a solid and straightforward design that continues to age exceptionally well, especially in the company of its exaggerated and extroverted competitors. At the front of this super cool F1, a stainless-trimmed grille hangs clear parking lamps and a familiar "SS" emblem between bright halogen headlights, a spotless chrome bumper and a small Camaro header script. At the top of that grille, a correct Super Sport hood reflects a perfect combination of like-new glass, satin-finished wipers and mirrored stainless trim. At the sides of that hood, a monochromatic profile hangs beefy "396" emblems and flowing "Camaro SS" scripts between familiar door handles, stainless rocker guards and a correct chrome mirror. And at the back of the car, an option D80 decklid and second spotless bumper frame a Satin Black valence, '68 Camaro-exclusive taillights, and an "SS" branded fuel filler.

ENGINE

If you wanted to factory-order 1968's top-of-the-line Camaro, you had one option: 396 cubic inches of big block Detroit iron! At the top of this coupe's numbers-matching, "MQ" branded mill, a chrome, correctly decaled air cleaner funnels wind into a familiar Winters intake via a big Holley carburetor. At the sides of that intake, spotless chrome valve covers reflect fresh AC Delco Premium Wires above fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the ends of those wires, a traditional points distributor rides between a new coil, a rebuilt wiper motor and a beefy Delco Moraine brake booster. And, opposite those wipers, a heavy-duty radiator sends coolant around a shrouded fan via reproduction GM hoses and fresh tower clamps. Naturally, this coupe's impressive engine bay, comprised of smooth Satin Black fenders, correct markings and new, factory-accurate decals, is clean and well detailed. The Chevy Orange block mixes a green carburetor spring with a typical array of stainless lines and textured ancillary pieces. And everything, from the car's chrome dipstick to its tagged Delco battery, displays an overall excellent appearance.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Under this tire-shredding classic you'll find a fully sorted chassis that's ready to hit the strip. Behind the buff engine, a correct Muncie 4-speed kicks a familiar GM 12-bolt that spins a posi-traction differential around brutal, 4.10 gears. Beneath that drivetrain, a completely factory suspension employs traditional, manual steering. At the corners of that suspension, power drum brakes provide cool and confident stops. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned manifolds into a 2.5-inch, true-dual exhaust system that's complete with an "H" shaped crossover and aggressive, dual-chamber Flowmasters. Power meets the pavement through 14-inch Rallys, which spin 205/75 BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial redlines around stainless trim rings and turbine center caps. And, in case you're a stickler for originality, our sale includes four LeMans Blue steelies.

INTERIOR

Open this awesome F1's doors and you'll find a correct vinyl interior that conveys a very clean and decidedly vintage appearance. At the center of the car, a blue-trimmed bucket and bench seat combination is in fantastic shape. At the front of the car, a good looking dash hangs fully rebuilt telemetry next to a correct Delco radio. At the bottom of the car, a chrome Hurst shifter hovers over stain-free carpet that's protected by tough rubber floor mats. At the top of the car, a tight blue headliner retains even color and good pliability. In front of the driver, an ornate, color-keyed steering wheel spins around a bright "SS" horn button. At the sides of the passengers, standard door panels are decorated with straight stainless trim and familiar GM armrests. And behind the cockpit, a thoroughly restored trunk is solid, dressed and ready to load.
