New Price: Offered here is the one and only 1937 Brewster Buick first owned by Charles Merrill Chapin (founder of Merrill Lynch). His friend, J.S. Inskip, was the owner of the Brewster Coach Company. He used his services to build a custom limousine for his socialite wife Esther Chapin... a direct descendent of our first President, George Washington. It was placed on a Ford chassis and delivered Mrs. Chapin but she did not approve of the design. Brewster removed the coach from the Ford frame and placed it on the Buick frame which was nicknamed, "Miss Daisy" by Esther. After she passed away, Inskip advertised the car for sale in 1959.
This vehicle was then sold to famed collector, James Tuschinky from New Jersey. He sent an application to the Classic Car Club of America where the Brewster Buick was approved as a "Full Classic" on 3-7-1973. Later in 1973 the car was purchased by Russ Jackson, founder of the Barrett Jackson Auction.
Other noteworthy collectors of this car were Ross Parsons in 2003 and John Ritchie in 2008 where application was made to Pebble Beach for inclusion in the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance. The car was accepted in L-1 Prewar Preservation.
This is a very well maintained car with the entire coach as original. The car came with a Straight 8 and was the first year the Century was built for Buick and was the first Roadmaster.
