Vehicle Description
1932 Ford Hiboy
This very nicely built 1932 Ford Hiboy has the right look and all
the right components. To replicate the car you would spend a lot
more than the very reasonable asking price. The build is about 6
years old but don't let that scare you because it still has a fresh
up to date look. The Wescott fiberglass body is nicely coated in a
two stage Yellow paint which has no problem grabbing peoples
attention and if you know body manufacturers then you are well
aware that Wescott is among the highest quality. The frame has been
painted to match and flows seamlessly with the body making it
almost vanish under the car when looking at it from the side. To
give it that original 1930s appearance the 4 piece hood has been
louvered and the door hinges/handles left in place. This is much
truer to the original 32 Ford then a lot of Hiboys you see. The
original style trim also graces the hood ending with the Ford logo
over the grill shell. A chopped front windshield sits up top and is
nicely framed in chrome with added wind deflectors on each side. A
nicely constructed Black canvas Lebaron-Bonney top comes with the
car and is very easy to add and remove. This gives you the option
of driving with or without a top making the car much more usable
throughout the year so when your topless Hiboy friends are stuck
inside you can still go out cruising. The car has a great stance
and rides on American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with BFGoodrich
radial sport tires.
Open up the four piece hood and you will be greeted with a very
nicely built 350 V8 motor. When it comes to reliability you can't
get much better and this car drives extremely well. The engine has
been fitted with a ton of chrome which when paired with the Yellow
block give the entire engine compartment a very clean look. Small
touches like the yellow spark plug wires show you that the builder
really put some care into the details. An Edelbrock 4 barrel carb
sits on top and is fitted with a nice Billet air cleaner. The car
has a great sound with ceramic coated headers, stainless exhaust,
and trumpet tips routed out of the rear. Backing up the motor is a
TH 350 3 speed automatic transmission which sends power back
through the driveshaft into the Ford 8 inch rear end with 2.79
gears. There is no doubt that the car is show quality because the
underneath is finished out just as cleanly as the top. You can
easily slide mirrors under the car to show off that undercarriage
while at indoor shows because it is a combo of chrome and Yellow
that you just can't beat. The suspension system consists of a TCI 4
bar front suspension, painted drop axle, coil overs, and a 4 link
set up in the rear. Front disc brakes are in place as is rack and
pinion steering making it a very easy to drive street rod.
Take a look at the inside and you will see there was no sacrificing
quality. It is all complete in Tan vinyl which has a nice finish
showing very little signs of use. The bench seat is comfortable and
has been fitted with matching seatbelts for extra safety. The dash
is painted to match the exterior and is topped with white faced VDO
gauges nicely mounted in a billet bezel. This is then framed with
cleanly done pinstriping that matches the body. On a lower
upholstered dash panel you will find the AM/FM/CD player with
remote that delivers a great sound. In front of the driver is a
matching leather wrapped steering wheel sitting on a polished
column. In the trunk you will find the theme of traditional and
nostalgia continues as it houses the nicely built and upholstered
rumble seat. This cool street rod gets looks wherever it goes and
is sure to add quite a few trophies to your collection.
