For Sale: 1937 Ford Pickup in Conroe, Texas

Vehicle Description

The year 1937 brought significant changes to the entire Ford product line. The Ford V-8 engine featured a redesigned block, crankshaft and heads. Combined with many other improvements, the V-8 engine became more reliable and popular. Additionally, Ford introduced a smaller 60 HP V-8 designed to appeal to the economy minded driver and it was made available in virtually all Ford vehicles. All 1937 Ford cars and trucks came with a V-8. The sheet metal on the 1937 Ford commercial vehicles was basically warmed over from the 1935-36 models. For the first time, all 1937 Ford vehicles sported a Vee windshield. All of the passenger cars and most light duty trucks shared a 112 inch wheelbase frame, virtually the same as 1935 and 1936. Two levels of trim were available on 1937 trucks. The standard model had a single windshield wiper, painted windshield frame, single horn and a grille with a painted center portion. The deluxe version had two windshield wipers, two chrome horns, chrome windshield frame, stainless steel trim around the hood louvers and a chrome center portion of the grille. For those persons looking to restore a 1937 Ford pickup or similar ’37 Ford commercial car, 1937 proves to be a very unique year. Although Ford had one of it’s best sales years since 1930, the 1937 model trucks were pretty much a one of a kind. 1938 saw a complete redesign of the truck sheet metal including the first one piece, top opening hood on a Ford truck. As a result, 1937 was the last year for a side opening hood and the last year for a radiator grille shell. Also, 1938 Pickup truck beds changed completely once again, remaining the same for several years afterward. In Texas we love trucks and Ford has been offering us some of the best examples ever since the introduction of the 'Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body' in 1925. Ninety years later there is still a strong appreciation for the early Ford trucks that paved the way for the F-Series and others that followed. This beautiful 1937 Ford truck was the recipient of a frame-off restoration approximately 15 years ago and has remained in a small Texas collection ever since. The most recent owner has decided to reduce his collection of classics and therefore this exceptional Stake Bed is being offered to the general public! The aim of the restoration was to keep the Ford original and with exception of small items like an electric start and an alternator it closely resembles its appearance when it rolled off the assembly line over 77 years ago. Per the most recent owner, the 68,000 mile odometer reading represents the original mileage on the truck. You will see in the photos below that this Ford is not a trailer queen. But, if you are looking for an outstanding example that retains originality and drives great .... this is your truck! The interior is very clean with a perfect and uncut dash, new black seat cover, door panels, and headliner. The two-tone red & black paint shows very nicely, the wood bed and rails are excellent, and the undercarriage is clean. This classic Ford needs nothing and we wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere. It starts easily, shifts smoothly, stops like it should, and drives great. Features and options include; Flathead V8, 3 Speed Transmission, Chrome Bumpers, Fog Lights, Dual Exhaust, 16" Factory Wheels and thick Coker Classic 6.00-16 White Wall Tires! As you will see from the photos below, this is an exceptional classic Ford that can be purchased for only $34,988!
