For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

There are a lot of pretty '57 Chevys out there, so someone took this gorgeous Bel Air hardtop and turned it into one of the most stunning resto-mods we've ever seen. With subtle body mods, a C4 Corvette chassis underneath, and a stunning interior, there's nothing that this Chevy doesn't do well.

Some cars are just so amazing, it's hard to know where to start. There's no denying that this is a '57 Bel Air in every way, the iconic shape and amazing details tell that story loud and clear. But upon closer inspection, you can see that it's been carefully tweaked and modified, including shaved door handles, a custom grille with the teeth from a '57 'Vette, and some scrupulously shaved trim bits. It's all bathed in vivid Matador Red paint that's show-quality beautiful. All the sheetmetal mods meant that it was critical to get the gaps exactly right, and you'll definitely be impressed by how well this Chevy fits together. The 'Fuel Injection' badges on the front fenders meant something big was under the hood in '57, and that remains true today, but we'll get to that in a moment. Other stuff like the Bel Air anodized quarter panel trim, the gorgeous chrome and stainless trim that frames the rear fins, and, of course, the heavy bumpers, all of it has been expertly restored to really pop off that red surface.

There's no other way to say it: the interior is simply stunning. Featuring modified buckets from a late-model GTO, custom upholstery on every surface, and a dramatic combination of old and new, it's clear that there was a master at work here. The center console was custom fabricated just for this car, and includes a trick built-in clock just ahead of the billet shifter, plus the requisite cup holders that are practically standard on every modern rod. White-faced gauges from Classic Instruments were stuffed into a shiny billet panel and framed by a wild billet wheel wrapped in more red custom upholstery. A touch-screen entertainment system is state-of-the-art, and like any great build, this Chevy includes amenities like A/C, power windows, power seats, and a tilt steering column, all blended with a 1950s sensibility that will make you smile every time you get int. Deep pile carpets feel luxurious and keep things quiet inside and extend to the beautifully finished trunk compartment.

Under the skin, this '57 is still all Chevrolet, although it's Corvette rather than Bel Air. The motor is a 404-inch stroker based on a modern LS2 fed by a custom cold-air intake and looking right at home in the '57's engine bay. As many OEM components as possible were retained, including the accessory drive, and it's cooled by a giant aluminum radiator, so it's happy idling in traffic with the A/C cranking. It's backed by a smart FLT Level V 4L60E automatic transmission feeding a stock C4 Corvette rear diff. The fully independent suspension and massive disc brakes at all four corners are also complements of the 'Vette, and it sounds simply magnificent bellowing through ceramic-coated long-tube headers and a Magnaflow exhaust system with X-pipe. Classic Torque Thrust wheels give it exactly the right look, but wear modern 205/50/17 front and 255/45/17 rear BFG radials.

Professionally built, this incredible '57 Chevy is a rare trophy magnet that also works superbly as a real car. Drive it cross country and we guarantee you'll never get bored with the ride. Call today!
