Trucks with hot-rod sensibilities are always popular, and someone has done some wonderful things with this 1966 Chevrolet C10. From the prismatic paint that sparkles in the sun, the perfect stance, and the attractive, feature-laden interior, this truck looks great all around. The mid-60s were a good time to be building trucks, with high style making them much more than basic tools. The creased and folded lines of this C10 are shown to great effect thanks to the paint that changes color and intensity depending on how the light hits it. As a result, neat details, particularly the crease the runs around the center of the cab, are highlighted in a bold way. The white roof adds a bit of 60s flair to the design, and the wonderful trim that flanks the cab looks custom even though its how they came from the factory. Add in the forward cant of the fenders that give it a feeling of motion, and you have a truck that looks great no matter what you do to it. The bed has a welcoming look that isnt quite patina but isnt over-done, either, and with a diamond-plate tool box, its surprisingly practical as well. The interior also got a thorough once-over, including new seat covers on the original bench. The two-tone upholstery in two shades of tan leather is surprisingly sophisticated and the workmanship is very good. Tan carpets on the floor brighten the place up and help control noise and heat and custom door panels tie it all together. The factory gauges are gone, replaced by an aluminum panel and some cool Equus white-faced gauges for a racy look, all framed by a wood-rimmed Grant GT wheel on a modern tilt column. Aftermarket A/C that uses nicely-integrated vents to chill the cab and theres a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo for entertainment. They went the extra mile to make sure everything was professionally finished, so its an easy place to spend your spare time and other vintage truck owners will admire your good taste. The powertrain is simple, proven, and powerful, with a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 at its core. The engine is dressy enough with some chrome parts, but you can tell that this is a truck built to be driven. Service access is quite good, the heater and A/C lines are orderly and the equipment is OEM-grade throughout. Theres a 4-barrel carburetor under that flamed air cleaner theres a Weiand carburetor and intake manifold, plus a set of ceramic-coated shorty headers for the exhaust. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission diverts the torque to a heavy-duty rear end thats likely the trucks original setup and the dual exhaust system is tucked in above it. Of note, the suspension now and Air Ride setup that gives it that awesome stance without killing ride quality and its been fitted with power front disc brakes to really upgrade the safety. Gorgeous 20-inch American Racing wheels are a 6-spoke take on the traditional Torque Thrust and carry 255/45/20 Nitto tires that are just the right size to stuff the fenders properly. A very slick old pickup that has the moves of a much younger, lighter machine. Easy to drive and low-maintenance, its the kind of hobby vehicle we all wish we could own. Call today!
