This 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS Coupe . It is equipped with a 5 Speed Manual transmission. The vehicle is Blue with a Tan Leather interior. It is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. - 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS (North American Version) Chassis No. 29819 Lifelong California Blue Plate Car Two Owners from New with Records to 1980 Desirable Carbureted GTS Model Catalyst, North American Spec Example Refreshing Blue/Tan Color Scheme The Pininfarina-styled 308 was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 as a supplement to the unloved Bertone-shaped Dino 308 GT4 and a replacement for the Dino 246. Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who had been responsible for some of Ferraris most celebrated shapes to date such as the Daytona, the Dino and the Berlinetta Boxer. With sweeping curves and aggressive lines, the 308 has become one of the most recognized and iconic Ferrari road cars. Completed in October of 1979, this particular carbureted GTS wears correct Blu Sera Metallico (Metallic Evening Blue) over Tan appointments equipped with air conditioning and power windows. The 308 was delivered new through California Ferrari in San Francisco to a Mr. Jawa on March 8, 1980, who briefly owned the GTS until it was purchased by its second and lifelong caretaker in December of 1980. Today, the 308 appears nicely preserved overall, still fitted with its original California Blue Plates along with an orderly undercarriage and stowage compartments. The leather seating, trim and carpeting show a typical light patina from delicate use while the Ferraris body and paint are nice with good gaps. 7.5x14 Cromodora wheels are fitted. Front and rear bays appear as original with spare assembly, rubber retaining straps, working zippers in the luggage compartment containing original tool and emergency rolls. Additionally, an original dealer brochure and Ferrari Production Car guide accompany, along with the cars original owners manual, service book, Blaupunkt radio manual and lubrication chart in the Ferrari sleeve. This GTS sports a solid powerplant with an average of 175 psi compression on all cylinders. Suspension, stabilizer and steering components appear largely original, with newly rebuilt carburetors. Our inspection confirms the car is due for its major service, with all records sequentially dating back to 1980 included with the sale. Ferrari 308s are becoming increasingly desirable and original examples are difficult to find. They represent tremendous value in todays marketplace, offered here is a great entry level California driver, with all history known, in a refreshing color scheme. $58,750 USD To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or Selling Made Simple.
