Vehicle Description
1956
Ford Crown Victoria
Rock & Roll
Fifties Style Hot Rod
"For 1956, Ford sported only minor styling changes and continued
with the trendy Crown Victorias, adopting their longer, lower
roofline for all Victorias. Ford now featured 12-volt ignition and
a choice of three V-8s. The venerable two-barrel carb 272 was rated
at 173 bhp with stick, 176 with Fordomatic, but was only for
lower-line Mainlines and Custom-lines. The 292 -- called the
"Thunderbird Y-8" and again borrowed from the 1955 T-Bird and
Mercury -- was for Fairlanes. It had a Holley four-barrel carb,
8.0:1 compression, and 200 bhp (standard transmission); with an
8.4:1 squeeze it cranked out 202 horses (Fordomatic). Optional at
mid-year was the "Thunderbird Special" 312 (not quite the same
engine as the 272/292), rated at 215 bhp with stick, 225 with
Fordomatic."

For sale by owner is this 1956 Ford Crown Victoria that was
customized in the 90's prior to his purchase. Redone to emulate the
street hot rods you would have seen in the late 50's and early
60's, this Crown Vic hits the nail on the head. We don't know all
the details, what follows is what we do know. The 390 engine and
C-6 transmission are from a 1966 Thunderbird rebuilt in the 90's.
It has a heavy duty radiator, dual exhaust and a 9" rear. The car
was repainted in the original Raven Black and most of the exterior
chrome has been redone. The interior was redone with bucket seats
and custom upholstery. It also has dummy chrome side pipes and
dummy spotlights. It rides, looks and sounds like the fifties and
is now ready for a new owner.
