Classic American work truck! Early AA with great patina and wooden stake bed! This truck will make for a great advertising vehicle or farm truck! The Model AA was developed and introduced alongside the A and shared a majority of parts including body, engine and Spartan interior. The motor was also similar: a forty horsepower 200.5ci Inline 4 with 6V generator, 2-blade cooling fan and electric starter. The AA did have a heavy duty 4-row radiator and chassis with optional front shocks and standard leaf springs bound to the axle. The AA also had a four-speed manual gearbox with a granny gear to get the 1 ton of cargo moving and a reverse lockout switch that kept the driver from accidentally engaging a reverse gear. Every function including brakes, steering and windshield wipers (on early models) was purely mechanical. Like the A, the AA was offered in a variety of body styles and built in numerous countries around the world. All said and done, about 156,000 AAs were built in 1929, of which probably 1/3 were body style 82A: closed cab chassis trucks. This AA is a vehicle that we are very excited to have in our inventory! Finished in Brewster Green with black fenders on Black Naugahyde interior, this 1929 AA Closed Cab chassis truck now wears a wooden stake bed with removable tailgate. It is fitted with what is likely its original motor and transmission and has been fitted with a couple accessories including: Motometer, driver side-view mirror, rear-view mirror, rubber floor mat, vinyl visor, and upgraded 4-blade cooling fan. The car rides on its original early AA 6-spoke steel wheels with 6.50-20 Denman 4-ply tires. Our AA has been used on an acreage in wine country an hour south of St. Louis city for the last decade. Trucks like this one built our country and ours was certainly used but shines up great and has a nice patina, particularly the wood on the chassis. The vehicle has been regularly maintained and preventative items were always done before suggested intervals. The truck has a rebuilt water pump, newer radiator and exhaust and all carb gaskets were also replaced as needed. The odometer shows 48,563, which we have every reason to believe is original and accurate to the chassis. Today, the AA runs down the road great and is ready to be a promotional vehicle or go back to work! We would welcome any additional questions on the truck! Thanks for looking!
