I have a very rare 7-up mustang 5 speed Convertible for sale. Everyone who knows fox body mustangs knows this model. The car has a salvage title from a door hit many many years ago. Please don't bother reading further if you that this is a big issue for you! It was repaired great, with some light bondo where a dent was pulled out by the door frame. Nothing is bent at all or appears to be replaced under the car, floor pans, etc. I bought the car with the salvage title as-is with no NCDOT issues knowing that the car was so clean and collectible that it wasn't an issue for me. I then rebuilt the entire car's mechanicals, which are all numbers matching and just completed a $5,000 motor job with all new parts, stroked, etc. The car is mechanically perfect (10 out of 10) and snarls and lays two strips of rubber at the touch of the pedal. It's also a very clean car with a near-perfect interior (9.5 out of 10) and a fairly clean body (7 out of 10).
You could literally part this car out for 15K due to it's rarity and quality of parts used. I have seen the all-white interior alone sell for 4500 on ebay. I am taking a minimal 10K hit pricing it at an asking price of $9,500 for a quick sale as I am ready for something different. I would consider an interesting trade such as a newer mustang, modified miata, etc. I can add cash for the right deal. Just let me know what you have.
If you don't know anything about the 7up here are the highlights.
The 7-UP Bottling Company was to give away thirty of these cars at the 1990 National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball finals in the United States. In an audience participation contest, anyone sinking a basket from center court with one try, was to drive home in one of the cars. At the last minute, the contest was canceled.
Production of these cars started in December of 1989, with only two cars being built. Full production began February 2, 1990 with the final car being built May 29, 1990. The convertibles all started out as coupes, and had the hardtop removed prior to shipment to Cars & Concepts of Brighton, MI. The plan was to build 5,000 but only 4,103 were built. The breakdown of the production numbers is as follows and my car is the rarest which is the 5 speed car.
- Total production: 4,103
- Number of 5-Speeds: 1,360
- Number of Automatics: 2,743
- Number of vehicles exported: 261

The good... mechanically the car purs, drives, shifts, and performs perfectly with needing nothing that I am aware of. It's a super sleeper and a beast when you get on the gas. I will tell you everything I know about the car when we talk. This is a highly sorted and highly collectible car. I built it as a collectible sleeper due to the salvage title and wanting to build something really fun.
It could use a respray. I really wanted to just do a complete body resto on the car. The first repaint at the time that the car was totaled (I think) wasn't done the right way. Gaskets weren't removed, etc. It looks fine from 15 feet, but up close it is not a show car unless you enter it in the driver class. I have done this, by the way and came close to winning. Some plastic trim pieces could use some attention. I was going to do them if I ever get to the body.
The top is worn, but functional. It's black and should be white, so I haven't bothered making the small repairs needed on the black top. I just didn't get around to replacing it yet.
Please don't waste my time and I won't waste your time. I'm going to send out limited pictures right now and will update the add once I get requests for more-specific pictures.
You will love this car if you ever wanted a rare, affordable, super-fast and fun, mustang!!!
