Description

This 1957 Aston Martin DB 2/4 2dr MKIII Coupe . It is equipped with a 4 Speed Manual transmission. The vehicle is Blue with a Red Leather interior. It is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. - 1957 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Mark III Saloon Chassis No. AM300/3/1319 Engine No. DBA/937 Body No. TS.116 by Tickord Factory Fitted Equipment: Instruction Book, Twin SU type HD8 carburetors, Alfin drum brakes, Dunlop Roadspeed tires, Armstrong shock absorbers Numbers-Matching Exceptionally Original Offered with a full Aston Martin British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate A very early 2/4 MkIII - Striking Original Colors Incredible Barn-Find, Presented as Found in Running Condition! Offered here is a very early example of the newly redesigned 2/4 MKIII in LHD North American specification. Constructed May 16, 1957 and dispatched eleven days later on the 27th to British Motor Car Distributors Inc., USA, finished in Storm Grey paintwork over Red Connolly Leather upholstery. Records from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust confirm the original factory specifications, as well as warranty services to mid-1959. Throughout late 1960s and early 1970s, the Aston Martin resided in Columbus, Ohio, where it appears to have been driven and enjoyed quite regularly. In fact, several matchbooks, miscellaneous articles, a preserved newspaper and license plates from 1973 remain with the Aston today - evidence the car was garaged soon after. Presented as it was discovered, this incredibly preserved example displays an entirely original interior cabin, along with numbers-matching mechanicals, original wheels, glass, trim and auxiliaries throughout. The paint color was changed to blue many years ago, while the factorys Storm Grey paint is still present on the dashboard and engine bay. After a careful inspection and tune-up, the car starts and runs after all of these years, the engine sounds good although we do not recommend driving the car on public roads until a full assessment and complete service is done. Accompanying the sale is an exclusive Aston Martin Heritage Certificate Folder containing the BMIHT Heritage Certificate, period Aston Martin sales brochure copy, period photo and copies of the original Aston Martin build cards. This remarkable DB 2/4 Mark III Saloon is the ideal candidate to preserve as original or take to the next level - Worthy of closer inspection as it is a rare treat to come across an example such as this. $259,500.00 Offers Welcomed To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or sales@driversource.com Selling Made Simple.
