Selling For Client: For Sale is this Jaguar 3.4 saloon (Mk 1) owned by motoring writer and historian Jim Patten (Executive Editor Jaguar World Monthly) since May 1999. It has been subjected to a comprehensive restoration featured through the pages of Jaguar World Monthly, during which time it had back to metal repairs, rechrome of all parts and a total mechanical overhaul. - Engine rebuilt by VSE with S3 XJ inlet cam and D-type exhaust cam - Carburettors overhauled by the SU Carburettor Company - Aluminium radiator from NAR - Stainless steel exhaust - Original Moss gearbox with overdrive retained - Front suspension converted to Mk2 with larger 3-pot 420 callipers - New wiring loom from the Wiring harness Company - New silver enamel wire wheels fitted with Blockley tyres - Original tool kit - Interior retrimed by Mick Turley of MCT, the best. - Jaguar Clarion radio cassette mounted in a veneer housing Due to a few minor blemishes on the body it has just been completely resprayed by CL Classics and looks superb. This car ranks among the best driving Mk 1s on the road as testified by several knowledgeable people. It has been on several journeys accomplished with complete reliability, averaging 22mpg. It is ready to drive anywhere and is ready for the coming season. During the current ownership it has featured many times in Jaguar World Monthly, including a tour of the border country.
