This 1974 Jeep CJ5 presents extremely well. The paint is in great condition and has an excellent shine to it. The body is very straight and there does not appear to be any bondo or rust on this Jeep. Stainless fasteners have been used throughout. The fender flares are in great shape and do not have any fading on them as this Jeep has been stored inside since it was finished. The windshield is free of cracks and chips. The Bestop is in great shape and does not have any rips or tears and the plastic windows are clear. A Bestop bimini top is also included. The Goodyear Wrangler 31x10.50R15 tires look almost brand new and have 13/32nds of tread left on them. The directional rims are in good shape and do not have any curb/rock rash on them but the black paint is peeling in some spots. The square tube bumpers front and back are in great shape and there is a Roadmaster Tow Bar mounted to the front.
The interior of the Jeep is rather simple and consists of two Competition Pro hi back seats with seat heaters and four point racing harnesses. The painted floor has a rubber floor mat that helps with containing debris and is easy to remove for cleaning. The dash is diamond plated and houses the original gauge cluster. Autometer gauges have been installed on the roll bar and help keep track of vitals. A Grant removable and theft deterrent steering wheel has been installed. The 6 point roll bar has been powder coated for a nice clean look.
The CJ5 fires up easily and runs well. A mild camshaft was installed when the AMC 304 cu. in. engine was rebuilt. An oil cooler has also been added to keep engine oil temps down. MSD ignition and distributor were installed and the Jeep now has a rev limiter as well. A Painless wiring harness was installed. Dual batteries have been installed along with a 100 AMP alternator and are ready for you to mount a winch. A Holley 4 barrel carburetor sits atop an Edelbrock intake manifold. A stock three speed AMC transmission is currently mated to the engine but there is a Ford 1 ton T-18 four speed transmission with compound low gear ready to be installed as well. A Twin Stix T-20 transfer case with Teraflex Low Range Dana 20 transfer gears is behind the transmission and is mounted with Energy Suspension bushings and mounts. Hydraulic steering by Rock Ram has a great feel and provides excellent and easy steering. The wipers and fuel gauge are not working. The lights all work correctly including signals and flashers.
The Jeep drives down the road nicely and tracks straight. This extremely clean Jeep has not been driven off-road since it was completed.
This 1974 Jeep CJ5 is ready to be driven and to see what it is capable of. Like mentioned earlier everything has been replaced or refurbished and this jeep is in excellent condition. The 254 miles on the odometer represent the mileage on the jeep since completed. Work on the Jeep was started in 2007 and finished in 2010 but has yet to see an sustantial use.
